A Poor Father

Can I be able to vibrate again?

From the intolerant cardiac pain.

I have a left Anterior Hemi block,

Do suffer from pangs of agony round the clock.

I don't have a fear of death, but of late-

Have a regret of not fulfilling my target.

I have sons and a daughter,

They are yet to build their career.

It is my failure, no shame to accept,

I am a poor father of out of date.

Have had a dream to build a nest of dream,

Its surroundings will be calm and serene.

Colour, symbol of sacrifice, will be saffron,

Fondly people will call it Elite Bhavan.

Yes, Elite! I have it by name,

But lack of pouring of wealth and fame.

Very little contribution I have had offered,

My long cherished dreams have mercilessly suffered.

Never I have compromised with austerity,

Or had no jut out, no contrivance for futurity.

Now my sons and daughter do raise their voice,

But alas! Time is up for giving advice or making choice.

Have a fear! If I would die for the cause of cardiac arrest,

As there's a left anterior hemi block in my chest.

Who will hold my daughter's hand in a nuptial tie?

Keeping her a virgin if I would die.

It's a question of million dollars,

It ponders me over the months and years.

My sons are yet to have a blessing of fortune,

Do not have absorbed in any favour of boon.

In case, Something happens to me, they will fall in a fathomless pit,

There is none to stand by them with an anna bit.

Oh Almighty Allah! Let me have spared for more years,

So that I can have performed all my bounden affairs.
