the next day i left for studies as usual, but I wasn't paying attention i was just hoping yeonjun would show up at the end of the day. after class had finally finished, i rushed out, begging that he would be there. i felt my heart drop momentarily when i couldn't see his figure leaning up against the wall like he usually would be. but i scan the area and feel myself smile widely as i spot him across the road, amongst a busy swarm of people, staring at the library. i run across the street, shouting his name till we're face to face. as soon as he saw me coming, i saw his glance falter, unsure how to react after the threat from father. but nevertheless, i engulfed him a hug and he gripped me back, however this one felt different. it felt more scandalous, more empowering and more loving, like we were both a bit scared to let go, not certain what may happen if we did. i pull back slightly and look into his eyes

"we need to talk about yesterday"

i say

"yeah no shit, what was that about? that man was your dad?"

we both let go, but he keeps a hold of my hand as we stroll along together towards the park.

"yea that was my father, i'm really sorry for what he said to you. but i swear this doesn't change anything between us, at least not on my part"

we're at the park at this point, sitting in our favourite spot under a shaded tree.

"hey it's okay, i've been told worse."

he shrugs then carries on.

"i'm glad you feel the same, because my feelings for you are as strong as ever and i wasn't prepared to give you up that easy"

he wraps an arm round my shoulder and pulls me to lean into him. my arms encircle this waist as i rest my head on his chest. i listen to his heartbeat until my own matches with it, the warmth of his chin on top of my head warming my soul. even in the short couple months we've known eachother, i can't help but have fallen head over heels for yeonjun.

"i love you choi yeonjun"

i whisper into his chest, my words almost drowned out by the gentle thump of his heart, but he hears it.

"i love you so much more kim yeona"

i feel those very same butterflies in my stomach that i felt the first time we hung out at this very park. only this time the butterflies no longer felt scary, but more at home than ever before.
