Immediately I strolled into school on Tuesday after I got down from the bus, I spotted Brad near his car while his girlfriend sat in the front seat adjusting her hair in the rearview mirror.

I was about to walk over and say hi when I noticed Chloe standing close as well. I didn't want to entertain any drama right now so I was about to walk away when Brad spotted me and waved.

I hesitantly walked over but before I got there, someone hollered for Chloe and she jogged away. I looked from the corner of my eyes to see her joining her friend Sarah and a boy I didn't know.

"Hey Hannah. It's been a while."

"Yeah."

He squinted. "Have you been avoiding me?"

I chuckled "of course not. We just don't run into each other."

He smirked "well I heard you've been running into Mason a lot."

I blushed "what....? Did he tell you that?"

"Nope. Although he has been talking about you a lot."

"Really?" I shifted uncomfortably. Talk about awkward. Had he been making jokes about me to his friends?

He laughed "yeah, but you didn't hear it from me. It's actually starting to get annoying."

I raised my brows sardonically.

Realizing what he said, he quickly let out "oh no.. I did not mean it that way."

"Really?" I asked pretending to be annoyed.

He panicked "come on Hannah you know I didn't mean it like that. You know I love you." He joked after.

I laughed "I'm kidding. I know you didn't mean it that way. And please don't let your girlfriend hear that. She might not take it as a joke."

He laughed and waved it off, but I snuck a peek at the girl in the car. She was already eyeing me. When she met my eye, she gave me a tight smile and continued arranging her hair.

"So you and Natalie uh?" That was her name.

He reached out and scratched the back of his head then shrugged "yeah."

"How's it going?"

"Well... She talks a lot but she knows how to kiss."

I shook my head "of course. That would be the important part." I looked at her again. Now she was reapplying lipstick.

He laughed at my reprimanding tone, then changed the topic "hey we're having a party this weekend at my house. Wanna come?"

"No. You know I don't like parties."

"Come on" he urged "it'll be fun."

"Stop trying. You can't persuade me."

"Fine" he gave me a look "enjoy your boring life."

I grinned "I happen to like my boring life."

"Yeah... You wouldn't fit in anyway". I turned around at the sneering voice and saw Chloe. Ugh... She's back already.

Brad nudged her "stop it Chloe. Be nice."

"Oh sorry... I didn't mean it like that. She just looks like someone that doesn't like loud parties." She said as if she were really sorry.

"Um... You must be a..." She pretended to think and then smacked her fingers as if she just figured out something "tea party kinda girl."

I frowned and shot back "no I'm not. I think that'll suit you better."
