The mother rings the bell signaling the kids to come down, they all took their designated places and stood behind their chairs waiting for their father to join them,

Sir Reginald Hargreeves came in and stood behind his chair as he glanced at every kid and commanded,

"sit"

and so they all did,

Luther and Allison had something going on as Luther gave her a smile which made her blush and look down, Deigo was carving something into the arm of his chair while Klaus rolled himself a joint, Vanya was focused on eating while Ben and y/n were reading a book, but five was continuously looking at their father,

 Sir Reginald hasn't noticed the stare so to grab his attention five slammed his butter knife on the table, as he still didn't take his eyes off his father, the knife landed quite close to y/n's hand but she didn't flinch while everyone else was startled,

"number five"

"I have a question"

"knowledge is an admirable goal but you know the rules. No talking during mealtime, you are interrupting Herr Carlson", five pushed his plate not being bothered about anything his father just said,

"I want to time travel",

"no"

"Not again", y/n whispered under her breath as she placed her book down,

"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps, just like you said", five said as he glanced y/n a look,

"oh no" she mumbled,

"Y/n I strictly prohibited you to teach him without my knowledge"

"I apologize father", and with that five stood up and disappeared from his seat appearing next to his father who gave no importance to him,

"see?"

"a spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. one is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn", by now everyone except Vanya and y/n had gone back to eating,

"Well I don't get"

"Hence, the reason you're not ready", he looked back in our direction as his eyes shifted between y/n and Vanya's, Vanya shook her head as though signaling him to not do something stupid,

"I'm not afraid"

"Fear isn't the issue, the effects it might have on your body and even on your mind are far too unpredictable, now I forbid you to talk about this anymore", he continued now putting down his spoon and fork, but number five not using his brain turned around and ran out, y/n got up from her seat and ran behind him,

"no.5 and no.8 you haven't been excused! come back here", sir Reginald shouted worried for his kids,

"Five", Y/n screamed but he was deafened by his rage and ego, as soon as five began to make fists and open a portal she jumped towards him only touching his shoulder which knocked her out, while five went on jumping, first into the spring of the coming year, then in the winter of next but suddenly he landed in a totally destroyed world, he ran back to his house and shouted out the first two names he cared about,

 "Y/n?" "Vanya?" "Dad?", "anyone?"  he screamed as he stood in front of a burnt and broken building which used to be the Umbrella Academy,

While when Y/n woke up she was lying down in the middle of the street as someone was nudging her right in front of the academy, 

"Are you alright?" asked the man,

"Yeah," she said as she tried to get up, she felt dizzy so she slapped herself to get her out of it, she was right in front of the academy so as she decided to go in she heard her father yell,

"POGO WHERE THE HELL ARE MY FLYING GOGGLES"

and after that, you know the story,

FUN FACT: Vanya and five would sometimes hang out in  y/n's room cause father never check it or so they thought, and y/n would always make an excuse to leave them alone.
