• Stella's POV •
I walked down the hallway with my books pressed up against my chest. Ugh. It's so typical but what can I do? It's comfortable.
I smiled and greeted some of the friends I've made in my classes. I'm no one really special in school but I managed to make acquaintances with other people; which is a good thing.
It was about 9:15 am and my classes started at 10 so I had time to walk and relax. The students were still like wild animals at one point. They'd pull pranks on each other and scream at each other even if they're one foot away from each other and others would be making out in the hallway and I just don't get it.
My phone started ringing in my pocket so I had to move to the side to pick up. I was expecting it to be Hunter or Natalie but to my surprise, it wasn't any of them. The caller ID said Michael Gordon is calling...
My breath hitched before I answered the call.
"Michael?" I said.
"Stellartsy!" his cheery voice cheered over the phone. "God, I miss you so much!"
"Okay?" I laughed. "What's up? I miss you guys too."
"I have to tell you something," Michael said, his voice sounded serious this time. "Uh... how do I say this? It's one o' clock in the afternoon right now and we're getting ready to shop for clothes. Luke and the boys are somewhere but Luke... he uh, he met this girl."
For some reason, my chest became heavy. My grip on my books loosened and my smile faded when I heard Michael. Then at one moment, many things started flooding my mind. Is she the reason why Luke doesn't much time for me? Is she the new reason behind Luke's smiles now? Has he totally forgotten about us?
It doesn't matter, I told myself. In the end, I'm still letting him go anyway. It's what I have to do. It's hard, it really is. But in the end, it's both of us who'll have a hard time coping up with each other because of the timezones and every other stuff that involves my normal life and his pampered, rockstar life.
But it hurts. It hurts to know that maybe she's making Luke happy.
But I don't know who she is to him yet.
"Stell?" Michael said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I know nothing about her but it looks like they've been hanging out for days now-secretly. But I'm not saying anything bad about Luke but it seems that he's happy with Nico-"
"Hey, Mikey," I heard Luke's voice in the background. "We're-who's that on the phone?"
"It's uh, Natalie," Michael said. "Are we about to go now?"
I checked my wristwatch. It was now 9:34.
"Sweet," Luke's voice said. I missed hearing it. "Van's there. So we have to go."
"Right. You go ahead. I'll follow," Michael said.
"Can I say hi to Natalie?" Luke said. My eyes widened. Natalie has a deeper voice than I have so I can't imitate it.
"Michael don't you dare," I whispered.
"Uh you can say hi now," Michael said.
"Hi Natalie!" Luke said. "Is Stella there?"
"Tell him I'm in class," I said.
"Natalie said Stella's in class," Michael said.
"Alrighty then," I heard Luke say. "I'll just give her a call or a text when we get back from the mall. Let's go, man."
