• Stella’s POV •

“Mom, I’m only here in Sydney, don’t worry,” I said, calming my mom down as she cried.

“But it’s just… you’re growing up now,” she sniffled.

I chuckled. “I won’t change. I’m still that Stella Monique Mead that came out of you.”

Today, I was already moving out. I packed my bags already and pretty much emptied my room. All that’s left there are my bed, my nightstand and some other things. It is pretty hard to move out because I grew up in the four corners of this house. And I have memories here but it’s also a good decision to move out because things will change and I have to depend on my own.

“I’m gonna miss you, Tell,” Kian said, wrapping an arm around me as we walked out of the house.

“Don’t worry about me, Kian,” I said. “And you have Zee anyway.”

I sat at the backseat of Kian’s car. Mom was riding shotgun and Dad was beside me. I looked at my lockscreen once again. It was still the picture Luke had taken of us. I smiled sadly at myself and unlocked my phone. I went through my camera roll and stopped on a photo of me and Natalie. I immediately made it my lockscreen and went through my music.

Maybe right now, I don’t know what I’m doing. But I know it’s the best way to make things aligned. I don’t want anything to be blurry. I’ll find a way to tell Luke that maybe it’s enough. Maybe he’s had enough himself. I don’t know.

But despite all these negative thoughts running in my mind, I have a feeling that my sophomore year in college would be good. I feel like it’s going to be my year. I just hope it would be because I want to be happy and I don’t want anything to be bothering me.

We pulled up in front of a building where the apartment I was going to live in was. Natalie was in front, waiting for me and when she saw me wave from inside the car, she waved back and I went out to hug her.

“I can feel it,” she said through the hug. “This’ll be the best year!”

“I know,” I said.

When my bags were placed out of the car, my mom smiled at me again.

“You girls take care, okay?” Mom said.

“Oh we will, Mrs. Mead,” Natalie smiled. “l’ll also make sure Stella, here, eat three times a day!”

We all laughed. “We’ll be going now,” Dad said.

“Bye, pipsqueak,” Kian said, getting in the car. Mom and Dad followed and I waved as they drove off.

“Hunter!” Natalie called. Soon enough, Hunter went outside of the building.

“Hey, Stell,” he smirked. “Now, let’s get your bags inside your place and let’s party.”

The three of us sat in the small living room where there was a TV and three couches. For some reason, we were cuddled up together—Natalie on the right hand side, Hunter in the middle and me on the left. Our feet were propped up on the coffee table in front of us and we were wrapped in a big ass blanket.

We were watching this movie called “47 Ronin” which Hunter said was pretty fantastic. I don’t know, I’m not really into movies like these but I watched it with them anyway. I mean, Natalie was watching it so I will too.

Halfway through the movie, I felt my eyes ridiculously start to close and I fought hard not to sleep. But in the end, I gave up and leaned on Hunter’s shoulder.
