Realization

Simon P.O.V—

When Markus and I got in the mall, we walked around for a little bit, trying to find North, who had ran off somewhere.
'' Where did she go.. ''
Markus mumbled to himself, in question.
I was trying my best to help him look for her, I couldn't understand what made her so..
angry all the time. It's like nothing is ever enough for her, and I feel like if Markus went
out of his way to try and make her just the smallest bit happy, she would still be mad.
But I guess that's none of my concern..
All that matter at the moment is finding North, because I would hate for Markus to
get shouted at for not finding her.
'' Maybe she went to a clothing store? ''
I asked, Markus kept waking but he looked around.
'' It's alright- Simon, I'll just get in contact with her through my system. ''
Markus said before his LED started blinking between blue and black.
Static noises were coming from his mouth, and ears.
I could tell he was trying to talk to her from his system to hers.
She might not respond though, she seemed agitated.
'' Is she answering you? ''
I asked.
Markus paused for a second, then his LED started blinking again, and I heard that
static sound again.
'' Yes, she's responding, she said she's at the E-Hardware shop, she's looking for
thirium. ''
He replied to me.
I nodded, and followed Markus to the E-Hardware place he had said she was.

We were still walking, I had no clue where the place was, but Markus
seemed to know his way around every place, so I trusted his route.
'' I should get some paint, from Bellini's soon. ''
Markus said, staring at the Bellini's Paint logo.
I was confused, he never told me he painted.
'' You paint? ''
I asked.
There was no respond, just silence. His LED turned yellow,
and I was sure I had said something wrong.
'' Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you- ''
I said, feeling guilty.
He nodded, and took a left turn down a hall that led to more stores.
My eyes grazed the walls, there were pretty neat designs all over the
place, I guess I just really liked decorations.
'' She should be in here, I hope. ''
Markus said, pointing to a store, with the logo called 'E-Hardware'
We then walked into the store, looking for North.
There were barely any people in the store, maybe about.. one android, and one
elderly couple, the man was in a wheelchair, and the woman had a little stroller to
help her walk.
Markus and I where walking through isles, looking for North.
We couldn't seem to find her..
I heard a few footsteps coming up from behind me.
'' BOO— ''
I jumped at least a foot in the air and toppled onto Markus.
I turned around and it was North, almost choking on her breath.
'' PFFT.. OH my god- you should see your face right now- ''
She said, with tears dripping from her chin, was it that funny that it
made her cry?!
I turned real blue in the face, because I was embarrassed.
'' That wasn't funny- ''
I said, and then Markus started to laugh out loud, gripping onto my shoulders.
'' Why would you do that North—''
He let out another roar of laughter before he got the chance to finish his sentence.
Almost all of my body was blue, I was so embarrassed- but I have to admit, it was KINDA funny..
'' Come on guysss.. ''
I said, trying to not laugh myself.
'' it's not that funny! ''
I added..
Then I turned around to keep walking but I forgot Markus was holding onto me,
I stared him right in the face, and pushed his arms off, I was almost blue enough
to be considered a blueberry..
'' Okay.. okay- let's go- ''
North said, almost laughing again.
She put 3 pouches of thirium in a little baggie.
'' You pay for those? ''
Markus asked, pointing at the pouches.
'' Yeah, what, you think I'm some sort of thief? ''
She snickered, being sarcastic.
I started to realize that North isn't that bad of a person,
well, she does have a mood, most of the time that is,
but this was different than all the other times I've seen her act.
I smiled at the fact, it made me feel better that Markus wasn't with
someone who is some sort of bully.
'' Well, I guess we should get going now? We've got more of the mall to visit.''
Markus said, and I got excited again.
'' Yeah. ''
North said, her facial expression back to a snobby look.
I followed Markus out of the store..
