"Donghyuck you can't miss school again. It's already the second day you haven't gone," Donghyuck's father informed him, but the tanned male pouted his lips.
"But but, I don't want to~" Donghyuck whined, holding his baby brother in his hands as the small infant laughed at the noise his older brother was making which made their parents smile.
"You can play with Hojoon later. You need to get to school," His father spoke again, ruffling the boy's messy hair.
"But it's Friday!" Donghyuck proclaimed, not wanting to let his baby brother go.
"All the more reason why you should get to school so the weekend can finally arrive," his mother said this time and the mention of weekend made Donghyuck's ears perk up.
Sharing their goodbyes and their kisses, Donghyuck eventually left his house with his school belongings and made his way over to Renjun's front door, knocking on it.
Soon the boy's best friend slipped through the door and the two of them headed to the bus stop, Donghyuck cooing and ranting about how adorable his brother is to which Renjun giggled.
"Are you replacing me?" Renjun placed a hand over his chest dramatically and Donghyuck gasped with dramatic forces.
"No, I could never!"
The two boys arrived to school once the bus dropped them off. Donghyuck had ignored the way Mark was trying to get his attention. Funny how the tables have turned, isn't it?
Donghyuck just wanted the time to fly by and it did, several months being passed.
Nothing has changed, besides the fact that Hojoon was half a year.
Jisung and Chenle are officially dating.
Renjun and Jeno had gotten back together again, (they had broken up a few months ago because of a misunderstanding. Nobody meant what they said and they just needed a day or two to clear their heads. All in all, both of them ended up apologizing to each other within a few hours and cuddled for the rest of the day. Donghyuck wouldn't say he was jealous, but he was envious of what the two had and he wished he had someone to be as domestic as them).
Jaemin and Lucas took their relationship to another level to which nobody in the friend group was surprised, and lastly, Mark was acting different.
He was being more caring towards Donghyuck. He would buy the boy a snack every single day, even if the younger ended up throwing it away later on. He'll just deal with it. If Donghyuck did, he can too and he's willing to do anything to get back the cute and cheerful Donghyuck back to him again.
There would also be this mini sticky notes that stuck on his locker, that he kept in a box in his locker, everyday with little messages like 'You look pretty when you smile.' or 'You're so precious.' And to say Donghyuck wasn't a blushing mess, was a complete and total lie. He liked receiving these little messages, he didn't know who they were from directly, but he had an idea of who it could be.
And if it's who Donghyuck thinks it is, he might just accept everything...

Mark quickly slammed the little piece of paper onto Donghyuck's locker as he heard the tanned male's voice down the hall. He sped walked across the hall and hid behind the corner as he watched the younger and his best friend arrive at their lockers, Donghyuck's face with the hugest smile.
This time, Mark had written,
'Save Your Tears For Another Day,' on the little sticky note pad.
The reason for this was that Donghyuck had left his house with tears brimmed in his eyes. And he knew this because he may or may not have gotten up extra early just to see Donghyuck in person. He wanted to make the younger feel better.
He couldn't stand when he cries. It was very rare to see the younger cry so when you did, it shocked you terribly and made you want to help him overcome whatever it was that he went through.
The younger had quickly whipped his tears before Renjun came out of his own house minutes later. The older frowned and quickly made his way to the school as fast as possible to write him a little message to cheer him up.
And it did.
Donghyuck's face glowed through the school hallways, his cheek creased into a big smile with his face painted slightly pink. Mark cooed at the sight.
Little did Mark himself know, that he himself is a step closer to earning Donghyuck and his trust back.
It had really touched Donghyuck's heart with how much Mark has been trying to make things right. And surely, everything he had done to the younger may not have been okay, Donghyuck still finds a way to forgive the older because he's still madly in love with him no matter how much he denies it.
And Mark himself too was in love with the younger, but he would never admit it out loud.
At least not yet....
