Ch. 14 "Bonding"

                                             Jaylynn POV 

I was sat in the lab on the metal table, Steve had one of my small hands in both of his large hands turning my hand looking at it, 

Examining it making sure nothing is a miss I guess, 

"She seems alright," Bucky said with his arms crossed,

"Yeah," Steve said a little worried, 

I can see the worry in his eyes, I've never seen anyone look at me like that before, I thought as I tilted my head, 

And yet he does, 

All I have known is pain, yelling, belittling, screaming, not being good enough, 

Having to be better even when I was doing my best, 

I looked at Steve, 

But Steve, he looks at me this certain way, like I'm the most important thing in his world, 

Like I matter, like I am worth the time he's been taking for me, 

But why? I thought, 

I'm not one special, I'm just a girl, no scratch that I'm a orphan with no one, who was in the hands of HYDRA who were training me, 

To take out him and Bucky and not in a saucy first date kind of out, 

Both Steve and Bucky were looking at me, 

Oh Cheese and crackers they are staring, 

Say something, 

I shyly bend my fingers waving at them, 

You dumb Dumb that was doing something, I thought 

They both smiled down at me, 

"Jaylynn you don't have to be afraid of us you know that right," Steve said smiling at me, 

I slowly nodded, 

"And all we want to do is help," Steve said as he was keeling so he wasn't towering over me, 

I nodded, 

"Hey Barnes we could us your help questioning they guy that miss power puncher knocked silly," Tony said poking his head in the room, 

Bucky nodded, 

"I won't be long," Bucky said leaving the room, 

"Come on why don't I get you a snack," Steve said picking me up and balancing me on his hip,

I held onto him, not expecting to be picked up, and normally when I was being picked up in HYDRA, it was to be hurt, 

But Steve carried me like I was fragile, like I would break if he dropped me, I thought 

He sat me on the counter, 

"Wait here a minute," He said smiling at me, 

He opened the fridge pulling out something round and orange, 

He peeled back the skin, 

I tilted my head, 

"It's good, it's a fruit," He said smiling at me, 

He took a slice and ate it, 

"See yummm," He said smiling 

He handed me a pice, 

I hesitated but then put the piece in my mouth,

And it was well worth it, it was delicious, 

I smiled after I swallowed it, 

"Good right," He said smiling at me, 

I nodded, 

And finally I decided to speak, 

"Y-Your the good guys... Right?..." I whispered, 

Steve looked shocked and confused, 

He smiled at me, 

He tucked some of my hair behind my ear, 

"Yeah.. Yeah we are," He said smiling at me,
