"For fuck's sake!" exclaimed Tommy. He'd had enough of everything happening in his life- why couldn't he just have a normal life for once?
At least as normal as a vampire's life could get- going out, moving, killing people, that kind of stuff, not fucking kidnapping and trauma- that wasn't really what he'd signed up for when he was turned (although he didn't really sign up for being a vampire anyway).
He honestly wished more than he'd wanted to to have a normal life as a human- eating human food, going out with human friends, being accepted into society, not surviving with bodies piling up behind him! Oh how he wished he could go back to his past self, shake him, say Don't go into that alleyway, it'll ruin your life, live a normal life and die normally- now he was just condemned to immortality, a slave to time herself, just along for the ride and never in control, no free will. Ever.

Phil sighed. "We'll have to find Dream. He's been gone for a while, now, we'll have to be quick." He thought for a moment. "Oh! I know. We need to find a way to locate Dream, but the rest I have sorted. I think. Hopefully." He sounded unsure yet confident, but Tommy wasn't totally sure he had everything- no, anything, under control.
He grudgingly nodded and trudged up to Dream's room to search through anything he may have had left there.
First chest. Some rotten flesh (ew, he thought) and a bucket. Not useful.
Second chest. Two bones. Not useful.
Third chest. A golden apple?! Very useful. Tommy pocketed it.

He searched through the rest but nothing else was to be found apart from another golden apple.
Bored, he flopped down on his bed and something crinkled beneath him.
What's this? he thought curiously, and lifted up the bedsheets to see the wrinkled yellow pages of the book from the HQ Dream had given as his parting gift. He decided to skim through it again, but as he lifted it up something solid slipped out! What the- he thought, leaning over to pick up the unknown object.

It was a compass with the words "Dream finder" etched upon it. Wait. We can find him! Tommy thought to himself, and rushed down the stairs to find Phil.
"Phiiiiil!"
Phil, who was packing a small bag with what looked suspiciously like daggers and Tommy's gun, looked up. "Hm?"
"Look what I found," Tommy said proudly, sticking out his hand containing the compass as Phil looked at it, comprehension dawning on his face.
"That's-"
"Dream's compass, I know!" exclaimed an excited Tommy. "We can find him and get the others back!"
"Tommy," Phil said sadly, "he might not be completely willing to actually come and do whatever Jack wants him to do. We can't guarantee it, alright, just promise me that you won't pick any fights with him?"
Tommy stared at him, the happiness seeping out of him as he nodded slowly and grudgingly. "Alright. As long as he doesn't pick any fights with me," the younger blonde said annoyedly. "He better not pick any fights. Anyway, how are we going to catch up with them? They've already had about an hour or so head start."
Phil smiled. "Ah. That's where I come in," he said.
"What?"
"Just you wait and see. Got everything packed?"
Tommy nodded.
"Weapons? Glasses? Poison? Restraints?"
"Yeah, Phil, stop fussing," Tommy said, a little pissed. There was a pause. "Actually, I need to go and find some restraints," he said shortly, embarrassed.
Phil smirked. "Bet you're happy I suggested that, then?"
Tommy groaned. "Seriously?"
He ran up the stairs to grab some restraints before Phil could say anything.

Once he'd got them and everything was set up, Tommy asked, "Hey Phil, how are we actually going to get there? Because now they have a two hour lead and I am not running all that way."
Phil smiled. "You'll see. Follow me."
They walked outside, Tommy trailing behind in anticipation, and Phil did something extraordinary.

He closed his eyes, was still for a few moments and suddenly, huge, black eagle wings sprouted out from his back, ripping his clothes and beating rhythmically.
Tommy was amazed. "How come you've never told me you can do that?!"
"Kid, there's a reason that my nickname is The Eagle. Plus I've mentioned that my special ability is flight a few times before, you're just an idiot."
"Ohhh..." Tommy said in disbelief, putting the pieces together. "How did I not realise that?!"
"Cuz you're an idiot," said Phil, laughing. "Anyway, hold tight."
All Tommy could say was "Wha-" as Phil grabbed him, put him on his back and took flight.
