It was such a strange situation.

See, your father was technically the master...although you had the magic circuits that he did not. Your father was a great mage – in theory...but was rarely ever able to practice since his circuits were practically non-existent. Thankfully, your mother's were hyperactive and thus when you were born...their faults balanced out to create your powerful circuits but not destructively so.

Your mother was extremely sickly due to the explosive power she possessed...and so your shared wish with your father – to allow her to have a healthy life and that her circuits would no longer harm her – was created. Both your (e/c) eyes had been turned to the Holy Grail and it's overdramatic and extensive war.

Your father was extremely displeased that when he had been chosen for the grail, he was explained that he could not, in fact, have the servant tied to himself. The church representative explained much more powerful circuits would be needed...and had immediately looked to your form.

Your father was starting to get old, even if he had the circuits – the task would have most likely been too much for his body and would end up with him bedridden like your dear mother.

You agreed without a single question uttered.

The summoning was performed and a shrouded figured stepped forth. Male in form, judged by their silhouette, kneeled before the two of you and worked out the details of your pact briefly.

Your father was even more upset that you had been granted an assassin class – the most cunning but the one he was most worried about...well besides Berserker. He had been hoping for someone more righteous. A saber or Archer perhaps. Not someone who lived for, skulked about within and thrived in the shadows.

You, however, thought it was a rather good idea. Your shared servant could easily gather intel, find the flaws within and eliminate your competition quickly, quietly and without hassle...thusly you would end up with the grail much sooner.

Your mother would be safe much sooner.

There was one other thing that your father really didn't like...

And that was how close the assassin and you were becoming...

"so...do you think that if I was alive back when you were, that I would have been really cool?" you asked suddenly as you and the red-haired male looked up at the twinkling night sky pin cushioned by those lovely silver stars.

You didn't look away from your awe-inspiring view, but you could tell that he had turned to look at you.

He didn't answer right away...in fact, he didn't answer for a good 5 minutes.

And just when you felt you should retract your statement, his gentle reply was heard

"I do not believe that a world in which many a war are waged close to home would be a fitting place for your soul to try and thrive in."
