You sat there in the fast food joint's booth. Your legs crossed cutely as you leaned forward, your elbows on the table while your face gracefully leaned upon them. And your eyes? Staring. Staring at your so-called servant.
The orange haired said man was wolfing down another burger. It was nice to see him out and about in normal people clothes...but you worried about the little archer.
Although, 'little' wasn't exactly the right term. He just seemed so happy, like a little boy given the chance to have any toy in a toy store he wanted. But in this case, it would be whatever item on the menu he desired...and the boy being swapped out for a trained killer from the like...medeaival ages was it? It was so hard for you to keep up with all those tales.
Let's pause this segment for a brief moment. You, (name), are a magus master in the great holy grail war. Although the grail was never something you wanted to be apart of, however after the death of your mother...you decided to grant her last wish. To win the war and hold the grail in your hands proudly.
Now, your family wasn't a huge big name magus family like the Tohsaka or Matou families...no, see your family was like one of those B movies in the theatres being compared with the Hollywood block buster movies like the Tohsaka or Matous. You hated violence. You hated death even more. But you wanted your mother to be happy, it WAS her last wish...
You were an okay mage, and by that...? I mean you were only taught, well wanted to learn, healing magic and self defence. You had one very shoddy form of attack and other than that you were a sitting duck. Although you do know how to use a short sword...
"master?" you servant called to you seemingly stopped his inhalation of the fast food burger.
You quickly broke out of your la la land and inner monologue blinking at the boy sitting across from you
"oh sorry Robin...what did you say?" you smiled sweetly
"I didn't really say much...but you shouldn't call me by name you know" he added the last bit in a hushed tone
"it's fine, it would probably work out better as a disguise if you called me by name as well" you tried not to giggle "just saying, but if we both are calling the other by their first name then it would just seem like we were close or in an itimate relationship. To which, I don't really mind what others outside of the war think...it might even be fun!" you grinned happily but seeing his face unchanged from his dead pan look... "w-well, I mean...so long as that's okay with you...of course"
"I guess it doesn't matter, everyone I was close to died long ago. I wasn't really one for caring what others thought either. I just feel bad you summoned me" Robin huffed with a shrug before taking a bite of his who-knows-how-many-th burger
"I'm not upset tht I did, quite the opposite!" you smiled in almost a childish like look "you see, not only are you just THAT awesome that I summoned you...but I grew up watching so many movies that were based, mostly loosely based but they count, on your tale. Movies like Disney's Robin Hood with cartoon animals as the characters, or the Robin Hood movies Kevin something or other was in, oh! Then there was Robin Hood Men in Tights!" you laughed softly "that one was my father's favourite...more so for the inappropriate humor than legend, mind you"
Robin hood stared at you for a moment evaluating your little rant
"so in a way you grew up watching me...well my legend being told in different ways" he summed up
"well, yeah...I guess that's the simple way to put it." You mumbled with a blush
"so...do I meet expectations?" he asked with a brow raised
"e-eh?!" you blinked
"am I what you figured Robin Hood would be like" he clarified shoving some fries in his mouth
"well...not exactly..."
"see? Then pity to you that you were saddled with me" Robin said in triumph although...it wasn't hard to figure out that he wasn't really winning in this bout regardless
"that's not what I mean" you frowned with a glare, although soft
"oh? Then what did you mean~?" the archer asked in an amused tone
"you're rather cynical...which honestly as I child I always pictured you as this upbeat, happy-go-lucky kind of persona. But...I didn't really understand your lore before, now as your partner for the war..." you smiled softly at him as you played with a strand of your hair "well now, I understand much better. And it completely makes sense for you to act the way you do. Nobody would be how I pictured you to be when they went through all the things you did. All the events that occurred in your life made you who you are"
"so your point is...?"
"youre still the perfect Robin...even without the carefree hippy attitude I dreamt up...or any merry men" you shrugged blushing "for the record I like you, as Robin, much better..."
"without the merry men"
"without the merry men" you confirmed with a nod
"well..." Robin sighed leaning back before launching forward and grabbing your hand, kissing it swiftly then holding it between both his hands. "I'm glad we're in agreement milady" he grinned squeezing your hand softly
"as am I" you grinned back
Yup, even without the merry men...
