A short but cute Dukeceit one-shot

After learning about how penguins proposed to each other from Logan, Remus has since then been wordlessly handing Janus pebbles out of the blue.
Janus, being the oblivious snake he was, couldn't understand why he was doing it (or even tried to figure out why) but he honestly found the Duke's little "gifts" utterly endearing.
So much so that he's kept every. single. pebble he's received.
Until one day, Roman finally decided to confront him about it.
"Have you answered my brother yet?" He asked Janus with a small hint of impatience laced in his tone.
The question, obviously, caught Janus off guard.
"Answer him what?"
"...oh my STARS–"
Cue Roman filling him in on what his brother's been trying to tell him all this time.
Janus was left dumbfounded.
But he also felt his heart flutter at the adorable sentiment his boyfriend's been attempting to show him for the past few weeks.
So... Time skip to the next day.
Remus hears a knocking at his door.
He sighs and gets up from his bed, sluggishly walking over to it.
He curiously twists the doorknob open to reveal...
Janus.
Standing on the other side of his door.
Holding up a ring.
But instead of an expensive diamond at the center,
It was a simple, tiny green pebble.
The Duke's eyes figuratively bulge out of their sockets as the other flashes him a genuine, loving smile.
"Now then... If I give you my answer, will you give me yours?"
And then they fu– lived happily ever after.
