24. Tighter than ever

POV : HARRY

This has to be a joke. 

" LOUIS " I screamed as loud as my voice allowed me to. 

" Louis " I tried to scream again, but my voice gave out with sobs in between. 

I run and get my phone. I call him.

" What's up mate. I'm probably sleeping right now so I'll call you back when, if I wake up. haha bye " I get into his voice mail.

I try again and again and again. Every time, a little less hopeful. I give up and call liam. 

" 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 "

" 𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘮. 𝘓𝘪𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦? "I ramble, not letting myself think.

" 𝘖𝘩 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬. 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩. 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘪𝘵. " I say, kind of relieved.

" 𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘐'𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘮𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘮 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨. " He apologizes.

" 𝘕𝘰 𝘯𝘰 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺. 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶. " I convince him.

" 𝘖𝘬𝘢𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺? " He asks, with a tone of concern.

" 𝘖𝘬𝘢𝘺. " I say, exasperated.

" 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺. " He promises.

" 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩... 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘩. 𝘖𝘬𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 him " I say and end the call.

I drive. I keep driving, without a destination. For without him, I am lost. I'm trying to find out where broken hearts go. 

I ring lottie,

"harry? " she asks, confused.

" yes lottie. Is louis there? " I say, calmly.

" uhm no? why would he be here? what's going on? " she asks, quicker.

" fuck are you sure? he didn't call you? anything? "

" no harry - what is going on " she shouts louder now.

" He's gone. He's gone and he left me a letter. I NEED to find him. "

" what do you mean gone? " she asks.

" I WOKE UP AND HE WASN'T THERE OKAY " I scream at her, frustrated.

" WHAT IS HAPPENING HARRY I'M REALLY CONFUSED. HE DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME YOU GOT BACK TOGETHER " She screams back louder.

" I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just I don't know what to do " I sigh.

" I'm sure he's okay harry. He does this sometimes. I let you know if I find anything " she assures.

" okay "

and before I disconnect the call another one comes in from niall.

" HARRY " he shouts

" did you find anything? " I ask, hopeful.

" No but I think I know someone who might know where he is " he says.

" what do you mean? who? " I ask, trying to get it out of him faster.

" zayn. After you both broke up, they grew closer. Sometimes they both used to disappear somewhere, me and Liam were worried at first, then we knew it was their thing "

" okay. Okay. OKAY I need to call zayn right now. Thank you so much niall "

" TEXT ME OKAY BYE HARRY " He shouts right before I end the call.

" Harry? " I hear zayn's voice. Still as young as then.

" Hey, zayn " I say, anticipating the awkwardness.

" uh how are you? " he asks.

" I'm sorry to call like this zayn, but it's an emergency. Louis is gone and we can't find him. He left last midnight and it's almost evening. Is there any possible place he could be? " I explain.

" uh no, I don't think so. " he says, slowly.

" any? both of you used to hang out somewhere together right? "

" yeah ! oh yeah ! I'm completely sure he's there. It's in Simon's building. On the terrace " he says.

" okay. okay. Thank you so much. " I say, genuinely.

" Glad I could help mate. Let me know if he's okay " he says.

" yeah, yeah I will " I say.

" bye " he says and I respond before cutting the call and stepping on the accelerator.

I see his figure, sitting on the stone. He's calmly watching the peach sky, as the sun sinks down, and bleeds orange.

" louis " I whisper but he doesn't hear me. I step closer to him. 

" Louis " I say, now audible. He turns back. 

" Harry? what are you- " He starts but I don't let him finish.

" let's go. right now. " I say and hug him. 

I hold him tighter than I've ever held him before.
