Anna's POV

Sighing I try to focus on the case that the team are currently working on but find myself distracted as Alex walks into the room. It was no secret that I had feelings for Alex but she had never exactly been pleasant with me so I had to suppress how I felt when I was around her, which the rest of the team found highly amusing apparently and I notice Morgan hide a chuckle. Shaking my head I excuse myself from the room and walk out of the police station to get some fresh air because this case was bringing up some shit memories of my father and I needed to clear my head. Taking a deep breath I pull out my phone and smile when I see a text from mum asking how I was. Starting to reply to the text I was startled when someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I turned my head to see who it was, only to be shocked when I see Alex standing there. Quickly finishing up my reply to mum I turn to look at her properly.

"How are you holding up Anna?" She asked me worriedly once she had my full attention and I smiled at her. The case brought up a lot of old memories for me but I couldn't let it affect me just now.

"I'm okay Alex, just needed some fresh air before focusing again." I told her as I lent against the station wall. "How are you handling it Alex? This case is brutal!" I asked her and she shrugged.

"Honestly, I'm stressed out but there's nothing that I can do about it just now. I just want to get this bastard before he strikes again." She said and I nodded in understanding even as I felt like someone was watching us. Shuffling slightly closer to her I lower my voice when I speak again. "Alex, look over my shoulder without making it obvious and check if anyone is around." I said and she nodded as she moved closer making it easier for her to do so with me being slightly taller than her.

"Behind you to the right there is a man dressed in black joggers and a leather jacket. He looks like he's trying to blend in but he's completely failing. He does keep looking over at us though." She whispered into my ear as she took in the sight behind me. Nodding I hold my breath until she pulls away. "I'll text Hotch to follow us at a distance as we walk away from here. If he follows us that way we have backup. Do you have your gun on you?" She asked and I nodded calmly but could feel my body start to tense up and quickly forced my body into a relaxed pose.

"If he is our UNSUB then he won't do anything. He's going after couples Alex and we are not a couple." I said lightly and was shocked when she grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers expertly.

"We are now." She smirked at me and I shook my head at her but went along as she started pulling me away from the station. Once we were round the corner she pulled out her phone and sent off a quick text before we continued to walk down the narrow path, our bodies close and our hands swaying as we walked along cautiously. "Anna, do you trust me?" She asked after a moment and I nodded at her as she stopped me before lightly pushing me into the wall next to me. Leaning against the wall she leaned in to the side and pressed a gentle kiss to my lips while she carefully looked to the right. Kissing her back to make it look believable I understood what she was doing as I caught sight of a slight movement in the corner of my eye. Pulling away I squeeze her hand in understanding before we start to walk again. After a while of wandering aimlessly I started to feel every hair on my body stand up as the man from before finally gained on us and grabbed my free arm.

"Hello there ladies, what are two beautiful women like yourselves doing out near dark? Don't you know how dangerous it can be round here?" He asked with a slight lear as he looked down my slightly open shirt. Hiding my disgust I clear my throat before saying anything.

"Well sir, we came to visit some of my family so that I could introduce my partner here to them. We decided to go for a walk before turning in for the night. So if you would excuse us then we shall be on our way." I told him calmly and we went to walk away but he tightened his grasp on my arm.
