Maudie POV

I stared at my book.

I couldn't concentrate on the story.

I kept thinking of what Ezra asked me.

Is he really asking me out for real?

I looked over to Ezra.

He was sitting on the other bed staring into blank space.

"You okay Ez?" I asked.

"Y-yeah." Ezra said.

I closed my book, put it aside and sat next to him.

He's definitely not okay.

"Just tell me." I said.

"Fine.... I'm just confused about something. That's all." Ezra said.

I think i have a clue of what it is.

"Are you confused about your feelings for me?.." I asked.

Ezra eyes widened and he turned to look at me.

"So, i am right. Right?" I asked.

Ezra nodded slowly.

"How did you know?" Ezra asked.

"It was weird when you asked me the question just now at the beach." Maudie said.

"Are you disgusted? Confused? Angry? Disappointed? Or.... or." Ezra said in a panic.

Ezra suddenly became silent.

"Done?" I asked.

"Yeah.." Ezra muttered.

"Its Okay, i totally understand. Its normal for you to question your feelings for me because we have been getting closer recently." I said putting my hand on his shoulder

"So its normal?" Ezra asked.

"Yes of course. I also too have questioned our friendship." I said quietly.

"You have?" Ezra asked

"Yes, its very totally normal. But we both know that whatever happens were still friends forever right?" I asked as i smiled.

"Yeah.." Ezra said as he slowly smiled back

"I know this is cheesy but. Pinkie promise?" I said holding my pinky up.

Ezra smile grew wider and he gave a little laugh.

"Pinky promise" Ezra said.

"Awhhhhh That's so cute." Ava gushed.

"Really Ava? Eavesdropping?" Ezra asked.

"Oh you know me..." Ava smirked.

"And me." Kyle said as he appeared next to Ava.

"Where did you come from?" Ezra asked.

"I'll never tell." Kyle said.

"You guys really are weird..." I said.

"I guess we kinda are." Ava admitted.

"You guys are the smart ones we're the fun ones." Kyle said.

"Thank you... I think." Ezra said.

"Anyways, what's for dinner. Im starving." I said.

"instant noodles." Ava said.

"Again?" Kyle whined.

"That's the 3rd time this week so far." Ezra said.

"Well what can we do? Rosita is not even feeding us." Ava said rolling her eyes.

"She treats us like animals." Ava said.

All of us nodded

I know we should report Aunt Rosita to a trusted adult but..

were all terrified of her.

" So none of you could be bothered to order takeout for all of us?" I asked.

"I would be on the pressure with choosing all your orders." Ezra said.

"I would just get us all a burger. And you know how picky Ava is." Kyle said.

"I forgot my planner an detail book at this house just now so i wouldn't have known what you guys would like." Ava said.

"Well, i thought Ava would have thought of it already." I said as i sighed.

"Oh im so sorry." Ava said.

"No don't be. Okay lets start cooking our cup noodles shall we?" I said.

They nodded and we went down to the kitchen to get some hot water for our cup noodles.

I guess im a bit sick and tired of eating cup noodles too.

I really miss eating peanut butter and salmon sandwiches..

Wait, i think i have an idea for tomorrow.

The Hallen show is still 2 days away.

Maybe we can just work in the meantime.

I think that would help clear Ezra's mind.

And mine too.
