thirty-one: ice-cream

Joel POV

I was in the tower as f/n asked to meet me so here I am trying to find her, but I walked into the bar/lounge and saw one person there. I go to turn around not wanting to talk to him

"Joel!, come sit with me" Tony calls turning a looking at him I see he has not slept, he is still in yesterdays clothes. I sigh he we go

I take a seat next to him and he looks at me putting down his coffee.

"Joel I know your a good guy but if you ever hurt her I will end you" he threatens I laugh nervously

"Tony you know I would not dare to piss y/n off" I say making him smile

"she likes f/f (favorite flowers), but not a huge bouquet of them just enough to not look depressing you know. Um she likes to win she gets very competitive so have fun tonight with bowling" Tony tells me surprising me

"she likes (ice-cream flavor) so after your bowling and dinner maybe get some up to you" he says sadly 
"Tony why are you telling me this" I ask curious

"because I want the best for her, and if that is you then I want her to feel loved and special when I can't give her that kind of affection" he says making me smile

"so you are just going to give up?" I ask raising my eyebrow

"of course not, but I will not put happiness above hers, she deserves to be happy" he says getting up and leaving

"wow" I say

"don't screw this up Joel f/n says from behind me making me jump

"did you hear all of that?" I ask f/n who nods

"he really loves her doesn't he" I sigh f/n nods

"right well I have an outfit to pick out for y/n I will see you later" f/n says waving goodbye and walking to y/n

y/n POV:

After finally picking my outfit with the help of F/n, Wanda, Nat and Pepper who was finally able to take some time from her CEO duties. I began walking down to the lobby but I heard Tony's lab blasting with music which makes me concerned as he has been listening to the same song for a while now. I knock on the door getting no response.

"Tony are you ok?" I ask through the door

"Ms l/n Mr Stark appears to be sad and does not want to talk to anybody" I rest my head against the door

"Tony I know you can hear me if not Jarvis will relay this message but if you don't want me to go to this date open the door right now so we can talk" I say feeling awful that he is upset and I can't help him. 

when he does not reply I rake my hand through my hair

"well Tony I am going out, please don't stay up and go to sleep" I add before leaving and walking out to the lobby where Joel is waiting with a small bouquet of f/f. I smile the only person who knows about my f/f is Tony and f/n.

"you ready to go y/n?" Joel asks me I look back at the direction of the lab expecting Tony to be there, I smile and turn to Joel

"yes lets go prepare to loose!" I say laughing we walk out of the tower. 

Tony POV:

"...but if you don't want me to go to this date open the door right now so we can talk" after hearing her say those words my heart was screaming at me to get up and open the door. But my head was telling me to let you go

I listened to my head

"Sir there is still time she has not left yet" Jarvis says making me look toward the door.
