The school bell rang.
I picked up my backpack behind me and stood from my arm chair.
I hang it onto my back and walk out of my classroom.
I took my phone from the pocket of my jeans when I heard a notification.
It came from the messages.
I opened it and saw my aunt's birthday greeting for me.
I smiled and continued walking.
I replied a thank you before pocketing my phone back.
I left the school campus and went to a bus terminal.
I ride onto the bus leading to the direction of our home.
I sat peacefully near the window and watched the busy city outside.
I paid the bus fee when the conductor passed by to collect money.
The wind blew and I felt the calm sensation it brings.
A few moments later, I pressed a button and it buzzed, making the driver stop the bus.
I got off and the bus left.
I walked towards the entrance of our village.
The guard immediately recognized me and gave me my bike that I left with him this morning.
I thanked him and rode to the direction of our house.
It was a bit far, and finally, I arrived.
When I entered the gate, I parked my bike inside the garage and headed to the front door.
I knocked two times and opened it with the passcode.
"I'm home.."I said a bit loud for everyone inside the house to know.
I took off my school shoes and and put them on the shoe rack that was beside the door.
I took my blue indoor slippers and wore them with my socks still on.
"I'm in the kitchen dear!"my mom shouted back.
I walked towards the kitchen and saw my mom and sister-in-law, cooking.
"Happy birthday, my child. Go and have a bath first. Afterwards, the food will be ready."mom said.
I just nodded and smiled.
"Hey sis."I turned to my sister-in-law.
She smiled at me.
"Happy birthday, kid."she greeted back.
"I'm not a kid. I'm sixteen."I told her.
She just pinched my cheek and went back to cooking.
I was about to leave the kitchen when a question crossed my mind.
"Where's brother?"
"He grabbed some cake for you. And hopefully, dad."sister answered.
I just nodded and turned to go upstairs.
Dad has always been a workaholic.
He's the CEO of a famous music entertainment.
And because he's been busy these days, I can't say that he will attend my birthday dinner on time.
Good thing mom knows how to make him stop working sometimes.
I just don't know how she do it.
I climbed up the stairs that leads to our second floor.
