It was one of his smaller and less advanced creations, he drew a picture of himself along with Dream and Blueberry, he had been having bad feelings lately and decided to release some negativity by painting. He would look up at his large painting as he smiled, but that smile soon turned into nothing, he tried yet again to smile but to no avail. He would look around, expecting another powerful being to emerge for a battle, yet he was met with an even worse surprise as one of his pages which would be hard to spot for a regular human because of hard far up it was, had turned pitch black like something he had never seen. Soon it turned to a golden outline, Ink now concerned what was happening would jump up and start levitating near the universe, he recognized it as dreamtale as the outline of the page turned a golden color. He grabbed the paper, this would result in his hand being covered in negativity goop, Ink now realizing something terrible had happened would enter the universe.

Meanwhile, inside the universe, there was a long ongoing battle, one between two brothers and better yet a battle that could determine the very faith of the multiverse. Unlike the many fairytales many hoped for, the good guys lost, as Dream was left on his knees by his corrupted brother. Dream himself faced many emotional conflicts, afterall his brother was nearly superior to him in every way, Dream blamed himself for all that had come to his brother and to atone for his non-existent sins he bite the apple. This is when Ink entered to see the horrible sight of his former friend. As Dream screamed in pain, Ink was horrified, and Nightmare looked as though he had seen a ghost, as Dream's rib cage busted opened followed by appendages erupted from his spinal cord. Negativity had retracted from Nightmare showing what he once was before as he fell to his knees in despair, Ink fell to the ground from shock, as Dream who is now known as Shattered Dream would emerge in his new form. Ink in a mixture of shock and panic would flee the universe.
