Draco Malfoy
Coming back to Hogwarts used to be refreshing. I remember craving for the feeling I had every time I was back on the train to Scotland. But that year, it didn't mean the same thing. I couldn't be glad to be back inside the castle's walls, where blood had and will run, because of me, because of my doings.
The train was crowded, almost all places were taken. Blaise and Pansy were both asleep, tired from the great holiday they must have had and Hecie was reading one of the books she received on Christmas.
As much as I wanted to not think about it, I was despair about the advancement, or rather the non advancement of our tasks. We tried to find ways to kill the old man but there still was the problem about finding out what Potter's plan was.
I could obviously not try to befriend them, it was a losing battle. How weird would have it been, if I just showed up at their table or in the Courtyard asking what was new in their life or what they did for Christmas - even more when Mother told me that Aunt Bella has made of the Weasleys' house, which is : burned it to the ground.
Maybe Hecie was the one for this task. She wasn't fond of Weaselby and Scarhead but I knew that she used to be friends with Granger. A long, long time ago.
It was so pleasant to finally practice and do magic in our first year. The power I once experienced when I first got my wand, was now a daily thing, becoming as normal as waking up every morning in the dungeons of an enchanted castle in Scotland. Just like our family, I was a proud Slytherin, so was Hecie. The Slytherin quarters had an environment you could never imagine experiencing in your life, it had a cold green and silver harmony, yet the warmest comfort I ever had. There was a fireplace in the middle of the common room and some elegant green sofas. Since it was in the dungeons, our windows gave us the prettiest view on the Black Lake that surrounded Hogwarts. I may didn't known how the other houses' common rooms were, they could never be as magnificent as ours was, that, I was sure.
I had met every teacher and did every class I had. Even though I preferred Potions, Astronomy was a really interesting art. As for Hecie's favourite, it was History of Magic, my least favourite one, so she helped me with my homework.
I remembered this day when I was looking for Hecie all around the castle and she was nowhere to be seen. What would Hecie do on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon in this enormous castle full of students, classrooms, magic, books- Of course, she would be where the books are, at the library. I made my way to the first-floor, where the library was, but was surprised to find my sister talking to someone else, I couldn't hear anything because they were behind one of the massive bookcases of the library, only that this person was a Gryffindor, because of the red robe I could spot. They seemed to have an interesting discussion about some book, based on how Hecie's eyes were sparkling. I was happy to see Hecie making friends, that was something uncommon but still pleasant. Some friends of mine tried to talk to her but she wasn't as involved as she was now. Deep down I think she wanted to befriend people on her own, as if it was some kind of challenge she gave to herself.
My friends were mostly people we've known since childhood, there were Gregory Goyle and Vincent Crabbe, not quite my favourites, it was rather courteous friendships because our parents knew each other but not something personal for me, there also was Daphne Greengrass, she was not that bad, rather nice, and funny but still not my favourite either and then, there were Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson, I never met them before Hogwarts but was glad I did. I knew they were the better person of all of my friends, since Hecie didn't mind staying when they were there, with me. Blaise was kind to Hecie, he was always trying to do everything he could to make her comfortable, they both had this odd passion about some book I didn't know, it was, in fact, how they first bonded. As for Pansy, she was the chaotic type, hugely rebellious, making her appealing. I think Pansy had the boldness Hecie always wanted to have back then, so when she was near her, it was as if she was her.
