Chapter fourteen: Internship Day 2

y/n POV
yesterday was quite interesting. I found out that mom has an apartment building behind the dojo

I was woken up by Meg banging pots together near my ears "TIME TO GET UP Y/N!!!" she yelled "5 more minutes!!" I groaned while covering my ears with my pillow

"c'mon, up n' at it kiddo it's 5:30!!" mom said from my door "it's still 5!!!" I yell from my pillow "this is the perfect time for you to train because the students aren't awake yet" Meg says "what time do they wake up?" I ask while looking at her "8 am" mom answers "ok....now let me sleep" I say while pulling my blanket over my head

"let's go!!" Meg yells while banging the pots together "ugh fine!!" I groaned as I sat up "meet you outside in 10 minutes!" mom said as Meg left the room with her 'the sun's not even out yet' I complain in my head as I got ready

I walked out if the apartment building and felt the chilly morning breeze on my skin. "alright...make a weapon and try to hit me" mom says "what?!" I exclaim "c'mon,give me your best shot" she said as lava surrounded her body

even though mom and I have the same quirk,she can't make weapons out of lava like I do because I got it from my dad's side. he can make any weapon of his desire with his body, LITERALLY.

on my mom's side,I can create volcanoes,and form lava if I'm close enough to the ground and by using heat sources. and she can also allow lava to surround her body like an armor....I still haven't mastered it

I made a sword in one hand,and a battle axe in the other. I charged towards her and tried to hit her with my axe but she blocked it with her arm. I tried hitting her with my sword next but before I could move my other arm,she hit my stomach with her knee

"c'mon y/n...I thought you could do better than that" mom chuckled "alright...to make it fair,we won't use our quirks.ok?" she said "fine" I replied as I got into my fighting stance

time skip/ sunset

I was training with Meg in the sparring room.she stopped for a bit to catch her breath "you're getting pretty good at your martial arts" she chuckled "you're saying that like it's a bad thing" I say

"you're pretty strong too" I added as she sat down "y/n...I have a question" Meg started as I took a sip from my water bottle "what's it like to have a quirk?" she asks as I sit down next to her

"in this case...your quirk" she adds "hmm....it's like....heat rushing through your veins...or how mom explained it,it's like water boiling in a pot." I reply "how so?" she asks "you know how the water boils right?" I try to explain "yeah?" she replies "my blood literally has to boil up for me to activate my quirk" I say

"but...doesn't that hurt?" Meg asks "yeah it does for the first couple if years but... you'll get used to it" I chuckle "do you think my quirk will ever manifest?" she asks "ofcourse it will" I answer "how do you know that?.....I'm 13 and my quirk hasn't manifested yet.....it's hard being the only person in my middle school who doesn't have a quirk" she says

she looks down at the floor "I just know....the time will come" I pat her back until I hear a small ding from my phone "hang on one sec" I say as I see a message from mom

put on your suit and meet me at the front gate

'are we gonna go on another patrol?' I ask myself as I look at Meg "go....I know it's important" she says as I run to the apartment building and put on my suit.

I see mom waiting at the front gate "are we gonna go on another patrol?" I ask "yes...and no" she answers. I tilt my head in confusion "I'll tell you on the way" she chuckles as she starts walking down the street

"you won't learn new combat skills if you just fight me and your sister...you know that right?" mom starts "yeah-" I stop for a moment "are you gonna let me fight villains?!" I exclaim "yes" she replies "I think I'm gonna need a little more training if-" mom cuts me off "I heard you fought a villain twice as powerful as you a few months ago so you'll be fine...and besides,the villains you'll be fighting won't be too strong" "how sure are you?" I ask "just trust me on this" mom chuckles

we walked through the city,looking for some action until a building nearby exploded and some kind of creature walked out of it and charged towards us

"Y/N LOOK OUT!!!" mom yelled as she pushed me out of the way. I crashed the window of a building and heard screams and explosions from outside. I quickly got onto my feet and ran outside

"y/n! in that building are some people,I want you to go and help them!" mom said as she fought the creature "yes ma'am!" I answered before running inside the burning building

there was smoke everywhere. I ran through the burning hallway until I heard a scream. I ran towards the scream and saw a little boy in a corner surrounded by fire. I grabbed him by his blue hoodie and pulled him out of the way before the ceiling collapsed

"I want you to put this on and run out of the building ok?" I said as I handed him my cloak "n-no I don't want to g-go without you!" the boy cried "I need you to be brave,alright?" I say. he nodded his head,put the cloak over his head and ran towards the exit

I continued looking for survivers until I saw a woman caught under some rubble. I ran over to her and helped her get out "have you seen my son? he's wearing a blue hoodie and-" she started but I quickly cut her off "don't worry ma'am,your son is alright,are there any more people in the building?" I ask

"no it's just us" she answered as the ceiling came crashing down "let's go,we don't have much time!" I take her hand and run towards the exit

we make it out just in time before the building finally came down "mommy!!" the little boy yelled as he ran into his mother's arms "I'm glad you're safe" the woman hugged her son before looking at me "thank you" she said as the boy pulled away from the hug and handed me my cloak "thanks for saving us" he smiled

I then got a notification from my phone,I pulled out my phone and saw a message from Midoriya 'a location?' I thought 'its not too far away from here.....'
