Chapter VI - A Truth, A Bite And A Lie

"King.." the woman moaned out her fingers tangled in the fabric of my shirt

I rolled my eyes as I continued to feed from her. She wasn't a blood toy, but someone who visited the shop because she was friend's with Madison. The woman often flirted with me but I never took the bait. That was until today. Nyx was on my mind heavy since our date, so much so I needed a distraction..bad. And Madison's friend just happened to be that.

Closing my eyes as the woman's warm blood oozed steadily into my mouth thoughts of Nyx began to flood my mind. The delicious taste of her blood, the sounds of her heart breathing, the image of her wearing that little black dress on our date. Holding the woman's body close to mine as she moaned I started loosing myself. The woman's body began to grow limp in my arms. The once strong pulse I felt against my fangs started to fade. Retracting my fangs I stepped away from her as her body fell back into the couch.

"Fuck" I mumbled looking down at the woman

Her skin was pale and I'm pretty sure if I didn't snap out of my trance she would probably be dead. Running my hand over my head I walked over to the mini fridge near my desk. Retrieving two blood bags I sat them on my desk. I wasn't in the mood to deal with setting up a blood transfusion so since she was Madison's friend I was just going to have her do it.

Walking to the door I opened it to see Madison standing at the threshold holding the medical kit. She gave me an annoyed expression before pushing past me. Snarling at her I closed the door before leaning back on it.

"You have somebody at the front desk for you and I shouldn't be doing this King. This is your mess" Madison fussed as she sat on the floor near her friend

"She yo friend though. Look my bad I got carried away. I was distracted" I admitted

"Well you need to get that bitch out of your head before you have a pile of dead bodies under your feet" Madison snapped looking back at me

Madison was lucky I didn't put my hands on females whether they were vampires or humans. But her tone was liable to get her choked the fuck out.

"Watch your fuckin' mouth. I don't pay you to be in my business" I said harshly "don't get comfortable talkin' to me like that, make me cancel yo life subscription" I threaten walking out of my office

Slamming the door behind me I shook my head. Fucking Nyx. As I neared the front of the shop I could hear talking, as I tried to recognize the voices the melodic song of Nyx's heart beat echoed in my ears. The closer I got the louder it boomed. Reaching the waiting area of the shop all eyes shifted to me including hers. She was with Kaliyah and Xuriella. Even if I wanted to acknowledge them I wasn't able to break my gaze from hers

"Hey Max" Nyx said smiling at me

"Max ?" Kaliyah, Princeton and Zexion all said in unison

Cutting my eyes at each of them I turned my attention back to Nyx. "Don't say shit" I told them telepathically "Wassup ma, what yall doing here ?" I asked resting my body against the front desk

"I came to get a tattoo and Xuriella wants to get a couple of piercings" She said taking out her phone

"Xuriella, Zexion does tattoos and piercings. Nyx Princeton could do yo tattoo" I said not knowing if I would be able to contain myself if she were to bleed

As if Kaliyah knew my thoughts she looked at me with a soften look almost if she wanted me to do Nyx's tattoo for her. Parting my lips to speak Princeton stood to his feet. As he walked over to Nyx I couldn't help but blurt out.
