Opening the window, Sirius allowed a tan colored owl to land on his arm. Closing the window before 3 crows could interupt the current peaceful state of the dorm.He knew this was going coming and he was dreading it. The peace shall be ruined.

This was his family's owl.

He knew that being sorted into Gryffindor would come with consequences, but he was absolutely terrified of it. Glancing around his dormitory, he noted that the rest of the boys weren't there, probably in the common room.

Taking a deep breathe, Sirius slowly opened the letter that came attached to the owl's leg.

"SIRIUS ORION BLACK! AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! GETTING SORTED INTO GRYFINDOR, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING. YOU BETTER FIND A WAY TO GET CHANGED TO SLYTHERIN, OR ELSE I'll-."

Sirius droped it and covered his ears as the howler yelled loudly. When it adruptly stopped, he was breathing heavily and had to reach his hand to his face to stop the tears from flowing.

"Uh.... Sirius, mate? Are you alright?"

Sirius's bleary eyes shot up and he saw James, Remus, and Peter standing there. They stared at him worriedly and James kneeled to where Sirius sat on the floor against the wall.

Sirius opened the other letter, relieved that it a written on and not one that would scream in his face.

Sirius Orion Black

We are absolutely disgusted. We expected better from you, and yet you got yourself sorted in Gryffindor.

Your uncle Alphard had been unfortunately killed. Such a shame, after ruining our family reputation and marrying a muggle, we hoped that he would live a bit longer to redeem himself.

I suppose that is what happens to blood traitors- prices are to be payed.

Don't follow in his footsteps, Sirius. The consequences are undesirable.

Orion Black

"Sirius?!"

Sirius shuddered and faced James once again. He quickly looked back down as a tear dripped off his face and onto the letter that caused it.

"What's up? Why are you crying?"

Sirius shook his head and folded the letter and placed it in his pocket, " Nothing. Nothing, I'm fine."

"No mean to press anything, but you definitely don't look like your 'fine'" Remus said, crouching by the black haired boy.

"I'm good, just some family stuff," Sirius admitted.

"Well, I know what'll cheer you up, I may or may not have already found the kitchens," James suggested with a smirked.

"We've only been here for a night, how in the Merlin did you already find the kitchens," Remus questioned, suprised.

"I did some snooping after hours last night,"  James answered pridefully.

" Well let's go then. We can't have any crying our first actual day of Hoggy, now can we," James stood up and reached a hand to help Sirius up.

The boys walked to the kitchens, making jokes and laughing until their sides hurt.

"Here we are, mates. All you gotta do is tickle the pear."

"How did you figure that out?"

"My dad have tought me a few things," James said, opening the painting a leading them inside.

"Your dad must be pretty cool," Peter said, immediately opening the cupboards in search for food.

"Yeah! Both of parents are pretty cool."

" Mine are alright," Remus shrugged. "I kinda drifted apart from my dad, but my mom and I are still really close.

"My parents are nice. The work alot during the weekdays, but we spend time together in weekends," Peter said, handing them all food of different kinds.

The 4 boys now sat on the counters of the kitchens. Sirius sat next to Remus, and James and Peter sat opposite.

"What about you Sirius?"

"I'm not very close to my parents. They like to discriminate against non-sacred 28 members. You know, half-bloods and mudblo- I mean muggleborns."

"Your not like that though, are you" James asked hesitantly.

"Well obviously," Sirius grinned. "I'm nothing like them, or who they want me to be."

"Well hey, were your family now. They can suck my di-"

"JAMES, NO!"

"JAMES, YES!"

.

Yay, Sirius has a new family (~‾▿‾)~
