Inej quietly closed the hatch behind them, as she caught a quick look at the General on the front of the deck. Sabo and Inej crouched behind the boxes, making sure no one saw them. Mal was sitting before them, glancing at Alina who met his gaze, he gave her a slight nod.

"What's the plan?" Sabo asked Inej.

Inej looked around them, watching as an Etherealki walked back towards the upper deck.

"I'll go for the Etherealki, if she's on our side we'll have a way out of the Fold. Stay here with Mal and make sure the Sun Summoner stays alive. Wait for me."

Sabo nodded at her. Inej stood up and silently made her way towards the upper deck.

"I'm not following the plan of your crew," Mal spoke.

Sabo looked at him. "I'm not asking you to." She replied. Mal observed her for a second before glancing back at Alina.

"Good." He said before he stood up and pushed himself through the passengers.

That also wasn't her intention.

Mal drew his gun and shot two guards before punching a third. The general nodded towards his Heartrender. The Heartrender held out his hand, resulting in Mal sinking towards the floor.

Sabo held in her breath as she glanced back towards Inej, who was fighting another Heartrender. Alina crawled towards Mal.

"Keep him alive, he could be useful to us," Kirigan said as he grabbed Mal his gun and threw it overboard. The light around the skiff dimed slightly.

Kirigan tsked as he grabbed Alina's arm and pulled her up. Alina glared at him as he said something to her, she held up her hands. Making a cloud of smokey light hover above the skiff.

She had told Inej she would stay put, she looked in between the Mal and Alina her gaze was blocked by the Kerch ambassador. The woman stepped towards the general.

"General Kirigan," she said. "This will only turn the world against you and all Grisha. You'll be seen not as a savior, but a heretic." She thundered.

The Heartrender and Kirigan exchanged a glance. The passengers glanced towards each other; Sabo could feel the tension rise.

The passengers drew their guns. Kirigan his Heartrender crossed his hands. The passengers along with the Kerch ambassador dropped dead. Sabo glanced backward, checking to see if Inej was still okay.

When she did she saw another Heartrender fall overboard by a gush of wind. Sabo peeped overboard witnessing how the Heartrender was dragged into the fold, a screech of a volcra followed.

Sabo drew in a breath. She glanced back towards Inej and saw her talking to the woman wearing a blue kafta, determination on her face.

Inej nodded at her. The woman turned around and ordered the skiff to move. Sabo could see the rage on Kirigan his face. The general glared at the sail.

"Zoya!" he belted as he looked toward the sail again, noticing that Zoya was the one controlling it. "Zoya!"

Jesper ran out of the cargo hold. Sabo shot him a warning look, alarming him that she and Inej had a plan. Jesper didn't get the memo.

He stepped onto the deck as he shot the general his Heartrender. Kirigan launched a black form of magic towards him.

Sabo had heard about the cut, the rumor frightened her but seeing it in person was more sinister than any story could ever explain.
