Every time Sabo fell asleep, she lost control of her powers.

If there was a candle in the room or a fire to keep people warm, the fire would turn blue. Because of this, there was no way for her to sleep with the others in Wylan's workshop.

She didn't know where Kaz was. She figured he was probably avoiding questions about his motives for blowing up the Crow Club.

The minute Sabo knew that everyone was asleep, she snuck out.

She had two options, she needed to find another place to sleep, or she would hunt the people that were after her.

General Bergkvist had been the man in charge while she had been in the Ice Court. She had wanted to kill him ever since she escaped.

The thought of it had been like a fire that kept her warm at night before the General killed himself and her chance for revenge was taken from her.

Sabo slowly walked up the stairs and closed the door of the workshop behind her.

'Where are you going?' a deep voice asked her.

Sabo turned around, her eyes narrowing at the person in front of her.

It was Kaz.

'You're back soon.' she noted. 'Everyone is asleep so you don't have to worry about being asked questions you don't want to answer.'

'Just in time then.' he said. 'Where were you going?'

'I'm going to find a different place to sleep, Jesper snores.' she joked.

Kaz narrowed his eyes at her.

'I'm going to get something to eat,' she lied.

'I'll walk with you.' he replied.

They had been walking through the back alleys of Ketterdam for a few minutes before Kaz started talking again.

'I had Wylan make something for you.' he said.

Sabo turned toward him. 'The bottle he handed you?'

He nodded as he reached into his pocket.

'What is it?' she asked him as he handed her the small bottle.

'He said it manipulates the color of fire.'

She wanted to drop it out of her hands immediately.

Even though it was dark in the alley Kaz could see her expression change. He suddenly was on high alert thinking he might've offended her.

'It's a precaution.' he said quickly. 'If you ever need to use-'

'What is it made of?' she interrupted.

'Wylan called it Redder.' he said as he looked back at the bottle. 'Why?'

'Nothing else?' she asked again.

'Not that Wylan mentioned, so no. Why?' he asked her again.

What would Wylan have thought about Kaz his request?

"Wylan, give me something that would turn blue fire into orange, thanks!"

'Did you tell him about me?' Sabo asked.

'Of course not.' he said, clearly offended.

'Then what was your excuse?' Sabo asked, not understanding.
