He was as handsome as she remembered he was.
The girl with red hair and glasses looked from her spot behind a tree at the boy with brown hair and hazel eyes. Under the shade of a tree, sitting on a bench, he was staring at the view of the lake in front of him.
She hadn't known for sure if he was going to be here. But she had hoped he would.
And he was.
A little flame of hope ignited inside of her. Maybe everything wasn't lost. Maybe he would be able to forgive her.
As she stared at him, the pain in her chest grew. And it hurt even more when she realised the pain she had caused him.
She was stupid. A fool to have ever believed that he would do something like that to her.
Turning her back on him, she let her head fall back on the trunk of the tree and closing her eyes, she thought back at how everything started a year ago.
