Anne P.O.V

I can't believe that it's already been a week since I got here. Time sure flies!
At least when I'm with Marcy.

I looked outside to see a downpour of rain falling down outside.

"Hey Anne, the director said that the explorations were cancelled today.
So I guess we're free to do whatever we want." Marcy explained.

"Wanna watch a movie?" I suggested.

"Yeah, that sounds fun!"

Marcy clumsily tripped as she eagerly slid across the floor to search for a movie, making me chuckle.

"What kind of movie?" she asked.

"How about a horror movie? Those are always exciting!"

"Oh, I guess we could watch that....."

Why did she sound so hesitant?

"I mean, unless you don't want to-"

"No, it's fine! We can watch a horror movie!"

Marcy put on the movie on the TV and went to sit down next to me on my bed as I made room for her.

As we watched on I felt Marcy flinch in fear when a scary scene happened.
So I gently took her hands in mine and soothingly rubbed it.

Marcy turned to look at me and gave me a dazzling smile that made my stomach turn.

But it didn't seem to work as Marcy still seemed to flinch. So I decided to try something.

I gently scooped her up and put her in my lap.

Marcy was a little startled, but leaned back into my warm embrace, smiling.

After that, Marcy had stopped flinching and the movie was soon over.

"Wow, that monster sure was scary!
It was able to lure all of those people!"

"Yeah, we wouldn't want the big scary monster doing anything to you, would we Mables?" I growled none threateningly, in a silly fake sneering voice, baring my teeth.

"Cut it out, Anna-Banana!" Marcy said amused, playfully rolling her eyes.

I continued growling and started to slowly approach Marcy.

"Anne, what are you doing?"

I ignored her question, pounced on her and started tickling her on the floor.

"A-Anne, stop it!" she laughed, squirming uncontrollably.

"The monster shows no mercy!"

"Anne, I'm serious!" Marcy said, in between laughs.

"You're no fun!" I pouted and stop tickling her.

Marcy regained her breath and looked at me mischievously.

Before I could wonder why, Marcy jumped and started tickling me under my arms.

I could keep in my laughter and I started giggling uncontrollably.

"H-hey, no far!"

"All is fair in love and tickling!"

Marcy continued on tickling me and I started snorting.

"Alright, I get your point! Just stop it, Mar-Mar!"

"Aww, but you're laugh is so adorable tough!" Marcy gushed.

I could feel my cheeks heating up at Marcy's comment and I shyly turned away.

"Okay, okay, I'll stop."

Marcy got off of me and I was able to regain my breath.

We both looked at each other and giggled.

Marcy always made things a whole lot more fun!

"It's getting pretty late, I think we should go to sleep." Marcy told.

I looked up at the time and it was 10:00pm.

"You're right, Marce, let's get some rest."

"When do you come up with all of theses nicknames?" she asked curiously.

"When I have the time." I playfully told, gently nudging her.

We both got into each of our own beds and turned off the lights.

"Goodnight Anne!"

"Goodnight Marcy!"

It didn't take me long to drift asleep.

***********************************

I was suddenly woken up when I heard whimpering.

I drowsily blinked my eyes to hear a big rumble before suddenly seeing a white flash.

There's a thunderstorm outside...

I turned to my right to see Marcy cowering under her blankets.

She must be scared....

I got out of my bed and headed towards Marcy. "Marbles, are you okay?"

Marcy's green eyes popped out of the blankets. "N-no, I'm afraid of thunderstorms." she weakly admitted.

Another crackle of lightning split the air and Marcy went back to cowering in her blankets, letting out little whimpers.

I hated seeing Marcy like this.

Maybe I can do something...

"Hey Marcy, would you mind if I slept with you to comfort you?"

Marcy's head popped out of the blankets again. "You would really do that, for me?"

"Absolutely!" I confidently answered, nodding.

Marcy gently smiled at me and moved a bit to give me some space.

I lied down next to her and put the blankets over us.

When another flash of lightning happened, Marcy clung to me in fear.

Feeling my heart racing, I pulled Marcy closer to me and put my head on her's.

I made sure that she was positioned in a way that she could hear my heart beat.

I could see that Marcy was starting to get tired as she stopped flinching at the lightning and she started to yawning as she listened to my heart beating.

Soon after, I could start to hear her gently snoring and she soundly asleep.

I't didn't take long for me to fall asleep as Marcy's soothing warmth pulled me into a deep slumber.
