Marcy P.O.V

"Wake up, Anna-Banana! Today we're exploring!" I shouted, gently shaking her awake.

"Just five more minutes..." she mumbled sleepily.

We'll see about that...

I ever so slightly shoved Anne off of my bed and she landed on the floor with a:

*THUD*

"Alright! Alright! I'm up! You didn't need to wake me like this!" Anne groaned.

I really do appreciate what Anne did for me yesterday, it was very sweet of her and it just made my weird feelings grew.

We quickly dressed up and prepared our resources for the exposition.

"Were are we even going?" Anne asked.

"Just around the camp there's apparently rumours of beautiful green and blue mystic lights that appear in the night sky somewhere, and they say that when you see them with your eyes, they grant you eternal joy and love.
So we're going to see it!" I explained.

"I'd rather just stay in bed."
Anne snorted, annoyed.

"Oh, don't tell me that you're afraid?"
I teased playfully.

"I'm not afraid! I just don't feel like doing this."

"Lighten up Anne, this is an exploration camp you have to at least go out somewhere! And besides, you'll be with me!"

"I guess you're right... You do make things better." she muttered.

I grabbed the map and we headed outside. "Okay, it says here that to reach the path you seek, you must climb to the highest peak."

"Which means?"

Hmm, highest peak.

I looked around and saw the amphibious mountain.

Bingo.

"We have to climb up the amphibious mountain." I concluded.

"Great..."

"It won't be that bad! Race you there!"
I challenged, running ahead of Anne.

"Hey you got a head start!" Anne yelled following in my pursuit.

I laughed as I ran, Anne was sure entertaining.

But then a suddenly hit a small rock, tripped and fell down on the ground.

Anne tried to stop in time but it was to late and she fell onto me.

I could feel my face burning at the proximity of our faces.

The way Anne fell made it that we were nose to nose.

But I couldn't help but stare into her beautiful blue eyes. They were so calm and kind, like Anne.

When I realized that I'd been starting at Anne for quite a bit I snapped out of our trance.

"S-sorry about that Anne, you know how much of a klutz I can be." I stuttered, embarrassed.

Anne also seemed to snap out it.

Wait......was she in a trance as well?

"Oh, no worries Marce." she said, while picking herself back up from her fall.

I got back up again and we both stayed silent as we kept walking.

We then reached and began our trek up the rocky mountain. It sure was high.

I could feel my feet starting to swell and burn after some time.

I abruptly stopped because of the pain.
Anne noticed that I wasn't following her anymore and looked at me concerned.

"You okay, Mar-Mar?" Anne asked in concern.

"Not really, my feet really hurt."

Anne put on a thinking face as she thought of a solution.

"Oh I have an idea! What if I carried you to the top?" she suggested somewhat eagerly.

I blushed at Anne's suggestion.
"Would you even be able to handle it?"

"Of course! I'm extremely strong!" Anne boasted, flexing her muscles, as if she was trying to impress me.

"Okay then." I agreed, giggling at Anne's silliness.

Anne crouched down and hopped onto her shoulders.

"I'm not heavy, am I?"

"No way! You're really light!"
Anne answered, standing back up on her feet.

Surprised, I quickly clung onto Anne's shoulders.

"Let's keep going! Onwards Anne!"

Anne chuckled and continued going up the slope.

After awhile, my back started straining from leaning back, so I decided to gently lay my head down on Anne's frizzy hair.

Anne abruptly stopped and tensed.

"O-oh, do you mind me doing this?"
I asked regretfully, pulling my head back.

"No at all, it's actually pretty comforting, I was just surprised."

With her validation, I nuzzled my head back onto her hair, inhaling her sweet and soothing scent.

I quickly grew tired at Anne's familiar comforting warmth and eventually went to sleep.

"Marcy, wake up! We're here!"

I opened my eyes to see that we were actually at the mountain's peak!

But how?!

Anne crouched down again to let me get off of her back.

"How did you carry me all the way up here!?" I asked, shocked.

"Heh, like I told you, I'm extremely strong!" she winked.

It was already dusk, so we sat down and looked up at the night sky.

There still wasn't any lights.

"Do you think that the rumours were fake?"

"I don't know, but let's not lose hope."

Right as Anne said that, the sky suddenly lit up and flashed with glowing blue and green lights.

"It's so beautiful..." I said speechless.

"It sure is...." Anne said in awe, looking at me, her gaze filled with fondness.

I shifted uncomfortably as her gaze lingers.

Why was she starting at me like that?

"You know Marcy, being here wouldn't be the same I wasn't with you." Anne confessed, her voice filled with affection and adoration.

"I know what you mean, you're kindhearted person Anne and I'm glad I met you." I admitted, turning to look at her in her gorgeous blue eyes.

I felt myself get sucked again into her blue gaze.

Her eyes were so magnificent that you could drown in them.

I don't understand, why was I feeling this way?

Anne is just a friend, right?
