*Meanwhile back at Teminus*
*Ethan's POV*The lights slowly flicker back on as the back-up generator in the basement kicks on to life. It was only emergency power but it was enough. Ethan comes out from hiding beneath his desk, wrench in hand, ready to hurt whoever caused the power outage from the most recent attack by Axalon Vex. Little did Ethan know was that his twin sister was trapped in Skyrim now. "Everyone okay?" Ethan calls out in a hushed tone.
"Yeah...." groans a few of the IT debug team members. It was their job to make sure that the bugs in games got fixed after testing with the VR gear.
"What the heck did Axalon Vex try to do this time?" Noah groans. He was head of the IT department. He secretly had a crush on Y/n and was trying to find the best time to tell her but now he may not get a chance.
"Axalon Vex cut the power. They may be in the building," said Ethan as he pushes himself up to his feet.
"Isn't your sister testing the VR gear?" Noah asks.
All the color drains from Ethan's face when it dawns on him of what Noah had said. "Oh sheit!" Ethan makes a mad dash out of the IT departments office and hurries downstairs. He finds it odd that he doesn't see anyone from Axalon Vex in the hallways. "Usually there are a couple of them here..." Ethan finally makes it downstairs and finds the doors to the testing room open and one of them was hanging off their hindges. The overhang lights were hanging by wires, causing a few sparks here and there before the electrical current running through them finally gives out, creating a loud pop.
Ethan takes a step back from the doors to avoid the shower of sparks from the lights. After a few minutes he steps back into the room. A few more minutes later the rest of the staff of Teminus were all crowded in the hallway to try and see what Ethan was seeing.
In the middle of the floor was laying what remained of the VR gear and a piece of the suit that is to be worn over your own clothing to help make the VR gear work. There was a slight soot stain in the floor where the VR gear was laying.
"I want security video footage of this room. NOW!!" Ethan yells.
The Teminus staff scattered in order to procure what Ethan needed.
Ethan stares in pure disbelief at the VR gear laying in the middle of the room, which looked like an explosion went off without damaging the room other than the lights. "Y/n what happened to you?" Ethan didn't feel like crying. In his heart anger welled up and he became mad at Axalon Vex, who were the ones responsible for his sister's disappearance. He hoped that he found one of the people responsible for the power outage so he could get some information out of them.
*Meanwhile in Skyrim at Jorrvaskr*
*Y/n's POV*Y/n was busy eating a piece of bread and a hunk of cheese which was brought to her by Fervyn. She was more tired than hungry at this point so she just accepted the food out of kindness. Across from her and Fervyn at another table sat the twins, Vilkas and Farkas. They would try to sneak a glance at her but Y/n caught then looking at her, they'd quickly look away. "Fervyn can we leave now?" Y/n asks.
"Why? What's wrong?" Fervyn asks.
"They keep staring at me," said Y/n in a hushed tone. She slightly tilts her head toward where Vilkas and Farkas were sitting.
Fervyn looks up just in time to see Vilkas and Farkas look away. "I think it's time to take matters in my own hands." He gets up from the table. "We'll go talk to Kodlak. I've a feeling we've been lied too." Fervyn heads downstairs.
Y/n gets up from the table and quickly follows after him, grabbing the last bite of cheese of her plate.
Fervyn heads towards the last room in the hallway in the basement area, which was Kodlak's room. The door was closed. He hurries towards it and stops in front of it. Fervyn knocks on the door. A muffled "Come in" could be heard from inside the room. Fervyn opens the door and heads into the room.
"Fervyn good to see you. I was wondering when you'd stop by with your guest," said Kodlak. He looked like he hasn't sleep well in a while.
"I was told you were resting, sir," said Fervyn.
"I was waiting to for you both to come see me. Now let me see this woman who has caused quiet a stir since her arrival in Whiterun."
Y/n managed to finish her bite of cheese before stepping into the room. "Hello, Kodlak, nice to meet you," said Y/n.
"So your the one who's been causing a stir around here?" Kodlak leans forward in his chair to get a better look at Y/n. "Now who told you I was resting?"
"Alea did, sir," said Y/n. "She told Fervyn and I to wait for you to wake up from your nap."
"I see then. I'll have to talk to her later then. Now what brings you to Whiterun?"
"Fervyn found me unconscious outside Bleakfalls Barrow. He had Ri'saad's caravan watch over me til he was able to return to Whiterun."
Kodlak turns to look at Fervyn. "Where were you while Y/n was in the care if the caravan?"
"I was returning from High Hrothgar. I was going to leave to retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller," said Fervyn.
"I see then. Go complete that task and I'll have Y/n initiated into the Companions."
"But Kodlak I don't think that is wise. I don't think she can even fight." Fervyn was genuinely worried about Y/n getting hurt.
"Do not worry. I'll make sure that Y/n is prepared for her spar with with Vilkas. She will go through the same steps to join the Companions as you have."
"Sir, what about..." Fervyn was silences by a stern "Not now" look from Kodlak.
"She will be fine. Now go."
"I'll return as quick as I can, Y/n. When we get back we'll make the journey to Riften." Fervyn gives Y/n a pat on her head, earning himself a slight blush from her, before leaving Kodlak's room.
Kodlak returns his attention to Y/n. "Now let's get you ready to join the Companions, my dear," said Kodlak with a warm smile.
"Yes sir," said Y/n. She felt a little nervous. Despite her skills in the training she received during testing the VR gear, she wasn't too sure if they would be up to par in a sparing match with Vilkas.
