I followed Y/n to her room, where she grabbed her guitar.
She sat on her chair as I set on the bed.

Y/n removed the guitar pick from around her neck, taking a deep breath.
"This is a song about someone who has to face their fears and insecurities and they feel so alone, but then someone comes into their life and stays with them no matter what."
She explained.

"I already love the concept."
I nodded in anticipation.
Y/n handed me a copy of the lyrics.
Her handwriting was messy yet organised at the same time.

I looked up from the page as I heard the few first chords playing, and then she started singing quietly, her eyes closed.

I admired her will to preform this in front of me. I listened to her beautiful voice as I followed the lyrics.
They were well-written, and the melody was amazing. Calming and peaceful, yet filled with hope and anticipation.

"...and I'll be by your... side..."
Y/n finished.
She looked at me shyly.

I blinked a few times, then started clapping.
"This. Amazing. I have no words."

"T-Thank you... hehehe..."
She got a little flustered.

"What are those?"
I pointed at the strange symbols next to some of the words.

"Oh, these? Well, this is what makes the song problematic to preform live.
I need another guitar track and backing vocals and all...
I planned to record it before going live later today."

I bit my lip.
"Do you think... I can do this instead...?"

"Y-You mean, you want to sing my song with me? R-Really?"
She got excited.

"I don't see why not. I like your song and I like your company."

"Wait a sec, I'll bring my second guitar!"
She ran out, a wide smile on her face.

We planned out the whole duet, practicing it a few times. I agreed to play it in the Q&A stream she'll do soon.

Y/n's eyes were absolutely glimmering with excitement.
"Thank you."
She wrapped her arms around me.

"This song is very important to me.
I'm glad you helped."

I gently returned the hug, feeling her warmth and smelling her perfume as her hair tickled my neck.

Afterwards, I proposed to mix-up our versions of 'Your New Boyfriend' as a warm-up to the stream.
"I want to try it since you made it seem very fun."

"Ah, YES! That's a great idea!
Let me open Twitch---oh.
That's going to be a problem."
She stared at the preview of the camera.

"You... don't mind your head being cut-off, r-right? There's no way I'm letting you sit on the floor."
She insisted.

"Fine by me.
Although I will lean down to say 'hello'.

Oh, just a moment, I'll tweet about this."
I said, and Y/n nodded, proceeding with setting up the stream.

I raised my eyes from my phone.
Y/n retweeted my tweet, looking up at me.
"Let's start!"

"Let's."
I agreed as she stopped the waiting screen. There were 2639 people watching.

"H-Hello, my little dummies!
I think you don't have to guess who's with me today..."
Y/n's nervousness returned.
I'm sure she'll get comfortable soon.

I leaned down, making a face at the camera as the chat went 'WILBURRR'.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n led the stream, answering questions that popped from time to time.
We debated over which lyrics to switch, where to put her re-made melody...
It was a challenging yet fun experience to do it live, saying my thought process out-loud.
"...'Cause your new boyfriend~
('Cause your new girlfriend!~)
...'Cause your new girlfriend ~
('Cause your new boyfriend!~)
Is a stupid-ass bitch."
We finished together as the chat was moving faster and faster with reactions.
"Woah, woah! Slow down! I can bearley read--- oh, nevermind.
So how was mixing songs live, Wil?"
Y/n sighed, gave up, then looked at me.
"I still have no idea how you managed to do this alone. It's BLOODY HARD."
"I know, but you gotta push through.
People make amazing things under time-pressure."
She shrugged.
As the chat slowed down, we proceeded to answer a few more questions.
I feel like I got to know Y/n a lot today.
Now, for example, I found out that she is 23, and started playing a decade ago, at 13, when her mother gifted her the guitar I was holding right now.
Feels like a great honor, to hold something that holds a special place in her heart.
It means that she trusts me with her prized possession.
"Hey, Dummy, I think it's time for
your song."
I said quietly, but didn't use her name because I think the mic still got it.
"You mean, OUR song."
She replied silently.
"You were a big help in it."
