Chapter 16- Tell the world

The time for the stream was approaching.

I looked at the mirror, slightly ruffling my hair. Honestly, I am a little anxious, too.

What if... what if...
Something goes wrong?
Or it'll attract more hate?

I made a deep sigh.
I walked out of my room to the living room. I saw Y/n in the hallway.

She was just wearing casual clothes.
But she looked so beautiful in them.
As I got closer, my hands found their way to her cheek and our lips connected.

"You look absolutely stunning, Y/n."
I put my forehead against hers as my hands went down to hug her around her waist.

Y/n giggled under her breath.
"You too, Wil."

"Yes, we are also here. You can stop being so lovey-dovey now."
Tommy was awkwardly looking away.

"I think it's sweet."
Tubbo made a very wholesome expression as Tommy objected, making puking sounds.

"Don't worry, Tom.
One day you'll grow up and get used to it."
Ranboo pet his head as if to comfort him.

Tommy just showed him the third finger.
Ranboo playfully gasped, pretending to be offended.

"Damn it, Dream. You missed the drama."
George said to the computer.

"Too busy looking through comments, Gogy. Me and the rest of the mod crew are struggling a bit."
Dream replied from the call.

"I-Is that so...?"
Y/n's lip trembled.
I could tell she felt nervous before.
Now it was clearly visible on her.

"We can still cancel this if you want."
I held her hand.

"I bet we'll have a fun day no matter what we do together!"
Tubbo, again, being the most wholesome person in the room.

Y/n closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
Her fingers played with the guitar pick hung around her neck.

"Let's do this."
She raised her head, determined.

"Heck yea!"
They cheered.

"You go, boss-girl!
WAITWAITWAITWAIT DON'T START DON'T START I NEED TO PUT MY MASK AND GLASSES ON---"
Ranboo freaked out as we chuckled.

My heart sunk when it started.

"

Hey chat!"
The boys started interacting with the audience until everyone joined.

Wilbur signaled me that we can start the stream now, but I just mumbled something about my guitar being off-key just to buy time.

Wilbur hugged me in reassurance before going in frame with his guitar.

Ranboo looked at me as I was still hesitating. He pointed at his mask.

He's right.
I still have the choice.
I still have a chance to put my mask on.

My hand clenched my guitar.

"Okay, okay, chat! Tubs, chat wants us to sing 'life by the sea'."
Wil said as everyone cheered.
He looked at me, wondering if I'd join.

I stepped closer, biting my lip.

I signalled them to start.

"...okay, then. Looks like our special guest will not join us right now.
Uh...
Let's begin, shall we?"
Wil said awkwardly.

The sit next to Wil and Tubbo remained empty. George looked at me.

Okay.
That's it.
I won't be a coward.
My friends are here.
Wilbur is here.
All for me.

My lips raised in a smile as I signalled everyone to hype up the song.
Wilbur's eyes sparked with the cutest smile in existence.

"Well, if I'm gonna be honest, I..."
Tubbo started singing.

Wilbur started playing the chords as everyone joined as background singers.
Well, Tommy was more a background shouter then singer.
I stepped closer and closer to the empty chair, still out of frame.

They reach the middle of the song, as everything slowed down and calmed down. I held my guitar. It's now or never.

"Day by day, putting on a brave face (Hey!)
Playing games, taking pain straight away (Yay!)
Maybe made mistakes but it's A-okay (Wait!)
We all need to take a break~"
Tubbo sang as Wilbur sang the secondary parts, playing slowly.

"So I'll be chilling when the tide is low (Woah, oh, oh)

And I can't sing the next note,
But I brought a bro~"
Wilbur started playing faster, hyping up the last chorus.

And in that moment
I finally joined.
"Woah, oh-oh-oh, ohhhh~!"

Everyone sang along as I sang the long, high, notes. Wilbur was so happy, he couldn't even sing.
We just played together.

It was one of the best moments in my life.
Surrounded by friends, Wilbur, singing, having fun.

"LIFE BY THE SEA!
LIFE BY THE SEA!"

"Life by the sea!"
Everything went silent as Tubbo sang the last line.

We all clapped, cheering each other.

The chat started spamming.
The nervousness struck me again, until Wilbur shifted closer, turning my face away from the screen, kissing me.

"WOOOOOOOO!!!"
"DUMBER, DUMBER!"
The boys laughed.

"I'm so proud of you, Y/n."
Wil whispered quietly to me when he pulled away.

"C'mon, the stage is yours!
Boys, if you'll take on the chat real quick..."
Wilbur moved the laptop away, now only the camera in my line of sight.
He held my hand for reassurance.

"H-Hello! I am Dummy-Star.
I, uh, some of you might know me from my m-music and covers..."
My mind went empty.

"A-And I suppose now you also know me, as, uh, Wilbur's girlfriend."
I laughed nervously.
