Chapter 7

Y/n POV

Jake and I where walking back to the Baker house to ask if I could stay while my dad was out of town

"Mom." Jake said as we entered

"I thought you went home?" she asked me

"I did and my Dad called while we were there. He is going to be out of town for a few days."

"Is it ok if she stays here while her Dad is gone?" Jake asked

"Of course you can stay now go set your stuff down dinner is almost ready." Mrs. Baker said

Thank you so much. I said as I went to set my stuff down

The next day

You have no idea how hard it was to keep it a secret that Eliot was going to ask Sarah out

Especially's because we are sharing a room while I'm staying at the Baker's

Eliot was coming over to take Sarah to go boarding but that was an excuse to get her alone to ask her out

I am so excited for are date and surprisingly things haven't been awkward between me and Jake at all.

We randomly hug and hold hands so I am assuming people are catching on but no one said anything.

We where all eating lunch outside when Mr. Baker said

"So Sarah, Eliot seems, uh, okay. I see why you like him."

"Somebody's turning red." Jake said making things worse. I kicked him under the table for that.

"Shut up!" Sarah said getting up

"You know, thanks a lot, Dad." And she walked towards the lake.

"What I say." Mr. Baker asked

"Men can be so clueless." Kim said

"Honey men aren't clueless." Mrs. Baker said and turned to look at her husband who actually doesn't know what he did wrong.

"I'll go talk to her" Mrs. Baker signed

"Mom, let me do this, okay? Trust me, I've got a little experience in the area of parental harassment." Said Lorraine

What ever she did didn't seem to help because Sarah went running further away

"Ok, now it is my turn to go talk to her. Baker to non-Baker." I say running to over.

"Hey tell me what's going on." I said sitting next to her

"No just leave." She said turning away.

"Ha that's funny you think that I am going to leave you alone."

"Not in a million years"

"Now I don't understand what your going through because I'm not a Baker."

"But I would love to try and help." I say trying to get her to turn back around.

"Ok, it's just everyone in this family thinks they know exactly what is going on."

"Because they are a Baker and have gone through the same thing."

"That's hard, but at least you have them to ask for help and advice but remember if they get to be too much for you You'll always have me."

"Thanks y/n." She said as we hugged

"But before you do come to me go to your mom because she will know more actually knowledge than I do." I said making us both laugh
