They still continued to be friends, but whenever they see each other again Scaramouche had a very weird feeling in his chest, the feeling was familiar.
And his heart would beat fast whenever Mona complimented him. Whenever he see's Mona with someone else, he would snatch her away from the guy.
He kept these feelings to himself until he decided to tell Childe.
"Yo, Tartaglia fart, I need to tell you something." Scaramouche said and snatched his shoulders, "Alright, what is it now?" Childe asked, "Answer me, Shnezhnaya's greatest love machine, what if a persons chest gets tight or feels right whenever they see a friend or someone?", He answered,
"Well! As I, the greatest love machine of Shnezhnaya, I'm afraid that is love we are talking about, Fatui number 5." Childe replied, his answer made Scaramouche in shock.
'Mona? Fall in love with...her?'
'impossible, we were only friends for a year'
'If I do like her, possibly, will she like me too?'
'there is a very low chance of that happening but-----'
"Scaramouche, are you okay? You just--"
"I need time to think right now, Childe." He said and left.
While Mona felt the same, she didn't know what this feeling was. So she went to Lisa for help.
"Lisa! Ehh..I need a bit of help, I'm kinda lost right now.." Mona called out to the librarian,
"What is it, sweetie?" Lisa asked, "Well- I- was friends with this guy for a year and whenever I see him my chest feels so tight..It is a very unsettling feeling.." Mona answered, Lisa chuckled softly,
"Oh dear~ seems like someone's in love with their friend~" she said,
"L-love..?"
"It's pretty common between common folks around here in Mondstadt, people usually come to ask me what that feeling is." Lisa said,
"Especially with their male or female friends~ best treatment is confessing your feelings, Mona,that you like the guy." She continued.
"O-oh...Thank you, L-lisa.." Mona waved goodbye and left in a hurry.
'loving the person that was my enemy and rival..' Scaramouche and Mona both thought.
They both decided to keep the feelings to themselves, as time passes by, the feeling in the chest gets more tight everytime they meet and see each others' eyes
But what if destiny really chose them to be together? What if fate destined them to be together?
What if they are really meant for each other..?
