Kate comes and finds me as I stare at myself in the bathroom mirror. Pulling down on my dark eye bags and looking at my face in the mirror.

"Mac, we're leaving."

I sigh and say "Don't call me that."

Kate nods and says "What would you prefer being called?"

"Well, I have a list of names if you'd like them."

She nods and says "That would make it easier."

I nod and say "Get a pen and paper or pull up your notes app."

She digs for her phone and a smirk comes to my lips. "Alright. I'm ready." I nod and say "Okay. Princess Consuela Banana Hammock."

She looks up from her phone and says "I hate you. Seriously? A friends reference?" I smile and say "Someone has to lighten the mood. You and my father take everything sooo seriously. Literally call me anything but Kenny. My dad has called me that since birth and I fucking hate it."

She nods and I walk past her. Dad and I follow her to a safe house more like a random persons home that she apparently knows.

We approach the door and she says "It's my Aunt's place. She's in Florida for the winter."

God I wish I was in florida.

She picks the lock at a very slow speed. I feel like I'm gonna nod off. Oh my god hurry up.

She pushes the door open and we enter. He looks around the apartment and drops the bags of drug store stuff on the table. He says "Clean your wounds, disinfect them, use soap. Alright we're going back to the apartment to get that suit. And then I'm going back to my kids."

I look to him as he directs me out of the apartment. She says "Oh, yes, Clint you may enter my apartment. Do you need my keys?"

"Nope."

And we leave her Aunt's apartment. We head to the crime scene and he sneaks into a firemans outfit while I climb the fire escape on the exterior back wall. I enter a random womans apartment that's now evacuated and push open Kate's apartment window on the top floor.

I land in the room waiting on my dad to get in.

He enters the room and says "Find anything?"

"No. You?"

"No. Let's get out of here."

I follow him out and we head back to Kate. We enter the apartment and I overhear her on the phone with her mother. Dad says bitterly "Since when did everybody start saying I love you to everybody all the time?"
