Part 18

When Harry and Scott enter the hospital they are are completely beside themselves. They are told they need to wait for any news and that Louis has been rushed to theatre and that's all that anyone knows.

Harry and Scott are still in their SWAT gear, minus their balaclavas, vests and weapons. Although they are outwardly upset and breaking they are still considered intimidating to the people in the waiting room. They move towards the back of the room, near the window where they end up holding on to each other for dear life

The rest of the squad turn up and no words are really said, they are all reeling at the thought of losing Louis. They support Harry and Scott as best they can, hoping that the longer they wait the better the news

Six and an half hours later Andy comes out onto the waiting room. The room is now empty apart from the boys.

He sighs as he sees them all, knowing the news he's bringing isn't what he wanted to tell them, he knows it's going to crush them all but especially Harry and Scott

The all see Andy but they know the look on his face and no one makes a move, they just stare at each other for what seems like forever

"Please don't Andy" Harry begs as Andy eventually walks over slowly and sits opposite the boys.

"He's alive" Andy whispers

The boys are somewhat relived, they thought he was going to say Louis didn't make it. They feel a 'but' coming on though and Scott and Harry don't know if they will handle it

"But?" Scott bravely asks

Andy sighs

"He's suffered massive internal bleeding, we are lucky we found the Bullet, there was no exit wound. The bullet punctured his spleen and lung which we managed to fix but, we had to take his spleen. he's got four broken ribs. The risk of infection is very high. The next 24 hours are critical and there's a 50% chance of surviving the night" Andy says as he chokes up.

"Oh god" Noah says as he breaks and Edward comforts him as best he can

The boys don't hold back and lose it. Scott and Harry break, Andy has never seen a squad be so emotional, it's breaking his heart.

"I'm going to give you some time, let me know when you want to see him. I can only let Scott and Harry in at the moment. I need you to know that you being with him, is what he needs. If he's got any chance boys, be there for him" Andy says

He then gets up and walks back to the nurses desk, he tells them a few things and heads back into his ER

"I don't know what to do" Scott breaks the  silence first

"You go and be with him" Drew says gently

"We should have protected him" Harry says

"We were told he had a vest and gun, we were told he was going in with Charlie and Max. We were set up. It was all a set up and we fell for it" Scott says

"We will interrogate Liam and Jax, we won't let them get away with this" Dan says

"What if he doesn't make it" Harry asks vulnerably

"Don't think like that, Louis is strong we all know this. He's made it this far" Edward says

"He would be so angry and sass you both right back for thinking he wouldn't make it" Noah says and that does get the boys to half smile.

"Go be with him boys, he needs you" Drew says

Harry and Scott wipe their tears and pull themselves together as best they can. They need to be strong for Louis right now, they can fall apart later when they know he's okay.

When they enter Louis room It's eerily quiet, apart from the sound of the life support machine whooshing, keeping Louis alive.

Louis bed is in the middle of the room, the room is quite big and fancy for a hospital. Only the best for Louis though, the boys think. He's hooked up to a dozen machines, a tube down his throat, drips in both hands, bags of blood, saline and antibiotics hang from the stands. Louis looks absolutely tiny, his face a grey colour.

Harry and Scott face each other and hug tightly

"We can do this, we will get through this"
Scott says

"He's ours, we will make sure he knows and that he knows how much we love him" Harry says

Scott nods

They pull back and kiss each other.

"Let's be who he needs and deserves" Scott says

They then both head over to Louis, one on each side, they pull up a chair each and hold Louis hands. They get as comfortable as they can, and start the long night. Holding Louis hands, kissing him and talking to him, telling him how much they care and that they need him to come back to them.
