Part 21

Louis is in the hospital for another two weeks, when he's able to come home he still needs help getting around and he still can't do a lot of things himself. His recovery will take months and Andy has tried to prepare Louis for it but Louis is stubborn and refuses to belive it will take that long.

"Louis, I'm not asking you again, go back to bed" Harry says voice full of authority

"But I'm fine" Louis says frustratedly

"Louis you've been home three days and Andy said you need to be in bed unless you're using the bathroom, why are you being difficult" Scott says but he has a fondness to his voice

"I'm not being difficult, I just want to watch TV with you, don't you love me anymore?" Louis pouts and the boys can't help but chuckle

"You're an actual menace you know" Harry says fondly

Louis smiles triumphantly and hobbles his way over to the couch and takes his spot between the boys, they snuggle him close

"That's better" Louis says sighing contently

Scott and Harry look towards each other and smile over the top of Louis head. They are so happy and having Louis close makes them feel content

"We're watching Love Island" Scott says smirking

Louis groans and the boys laugh

"It's okay, as long as I'm with you I don't mind" Louis then says quietly

The boys kiss him on the head and go back to the show

On the ad break Harry gets up and gets a red wine for him and Scott and a bottle of water for Louis

"And before you complain, no you can't have any alcohol" Harry says fondly

Louis closes his mouth and huffs causing the boys to chuckle

"You know, I really appreciate you being there for me, I really do love you both" Louis says vulnerably

"We love you too darling and I really hate to bring this up but, we know you know we have too" Scott says, taking a sip of wine

Louis sighs

"Every time I think about it my throat closes over and I feel like I can't breathe" Louis says

Louis has wanted to face what happened to him but every time he even tries he's faced with panic, he's traumatised and doesn't want to deal with it

"We know how hard it is Lou, but it's been three weeks and Andy said you need to talk about it. We aren't going anywhere baby, we're here for you. We promise" Harry says

Louis closes up and pulls his legs to his chest, it's painful but he doesn't care

"I know we haven't been open about our feelings when we go through things Lou, Harry and I are working on that though. We know how important it is, you can't keep it bottled up" Scott says gently as he swipes Louis hair off his forehead.

"Having you think I'm weak or that I can't handle something makes me want to keep it in" Louis confesses

"The very last thing Scott and I think is that you're weak darling, you are far from weak. Look at every single thing you've been through and you're still sitting here. We are so proud of you"  Harry tells Louis sincerely

"You're proud of me?" Louis asks confused

"Of course we are, why on earth wouldn't we be" Scott asks aghast

Louis tears up, playing with the foot of his sweats

"Don't close up Lou, come on, talk to us, nothing you say will make us think any less of you if that's what you think" Harry says

Louis takes a breath and wipes his eyes

"I fucked up. I shouldn't of gone in without a vest in the first place and then I wouldn't be sitting here hurt. You were right, it was my fault and I should of said no and I didn't. Im so stupid for not seeing through Liam and Jax, if I'm that stupid to not see that, how could I ever be undercover again" Louis says his voice riddled with disappointment and guilt

"Louis, you didn't fuck up, and Harry and I never meant to make you feel like you did. If we were in your shoes we both would have questioned the request of no vest yes, but ultimately we would have gone in too, trusted the team. It's because we nearly lost you, because we love you so fucking much that we were angry and for that we are sorry" Scott says His voice choking up a little.

"Louis, you weren't looking for red flags within our family, you had enough on your plate, Scott, the squad and I were viewing Liam's actions from the outside, from an overprotective point of view. If we weren't so close of a team, we would have overlooked it too, until the next instance happened. That was not your fault" Harry says

"Why would he try to kill me? We've worked together for years, he was on our team, I just don't understand why" Louis says brokenly

"Because he was desperate Lou, and desperate people do desperate things, that's not on you. You were his easy target and thank fuck he wasn't smart enough or clever enough to be able to follow through" Scott says

"Because of you guys, you saved my life" Louis says looking towards Scott and Harry. They smirk

"You're ours Louis, we would do absolutely anything for you" Harry says

"And we're pretty sure you've saved ours a few times Lou" Scott says with a wink

Louis half smiles.

"So will Stinger and Stanley come after me?" Louis asks, scared of the answer

"We think they got what they wanted and Liam and Jax are out of their hair. They have a huge rival going on now that stinger killed Stanley's wife, we're all pretty confident you're off their radar" Scott says

"But going back to undercover isn't an option anymore Lou, we're sorry" Harry says

Louis sighs

"No I know, I don't want to go back, I'm not sure what I want" Louis sighs

"Well you have time to chose, James said you have a spot anywhere, just take your time and if you don't want to come back you don't have to okay" Harry says

Louis nods

"When is the trial? For Liam and Jax?" Louis asks

"Next week, it will be done behind closed doors, no press, it's been covered up as far as who and what happened. It will be done quietly" Scott says

Louis is relived, the last thing he wants is a media circus around it all

"Well that's good then" Louis says smiling shyly

"Wait did you just smile?" Scott says teasingly

"What a smile? No way, Scott Louis can't smile" Harry joins in

"I don't know Haz, I'm pretty sure it was a tiny one" Scott says smiling

"Shuttt upppppp" Louis chuckles as he pulls the blanket up to his face

The boys chuckle and hold Louis close loving having him open up to them and being back in their arms where he belongs
