POV: (Y/N) YUMEI
[1ST PERSON]
How much longer am I going to avoid it?
"Goodnight, Patootsie!" My cheery dad called from downstairs.
"Night, Dad." I entered my new room, some unopened boxes still stacked around dimly in sight.
I fell onto the comfy sheets of my bed, sinking my face into the fluffy pillow.
It had been a long day. Sparring with two dudes for the first time was quite tiring, but enjoyable.
Turning my body to face the ceiling, my arms stretched out in relaxation as I finally gave in to sleep's call.
I shouldn't have listened to that call.
Usually when you feel yourself fall in a dream, you wake up, heart racing and all.
Here, I felt myself falling, and falling. Darkness surrounded me, and my body refused to wake up.
My stomach seemed to be left behind as my body kept falling... falling.
"Help..." I whispered.
"Help! Help me!" I shouted, watching my tears fly into the air as my voice echoed helplessly in what seemed to be a bottomless pit.
"HELP!"
"Patoot..."
"Dad, help me!"
"Patoots..."
I couldn't feel my body. My dad's voice was but mere faint echoes in the dark pit.
"(Y/N)."
My eyelids shot open, my dad's concerned face meeting my eyes.
"You were whispering help repeatedly. Did you have a bad dream?"
That was the beginning of my living nightmare.
Night after night. It'd be the same thing.
Falling in endless darkness.
Nightmare after nightmare.
I forced myself to go through it every night. Sleep is very valuable.
It's my quirk's only recharge.
If I wanted to be at best shape, I had to sleep full hours every night. Nightmare or not.
