I lay in my bed with a happy smile on my face. I can't believe that I'm gonna have a daddy! He's nice and he's happy and he can teach me to play football and throw a baseball! I'm so happy for mommy too, she is gonna have someone to love her. I wonder if he's gonna hug me and read me bedtime stories...maybe he can tell me his superhero stories!
I hear my door open and I pretend to be asleep.
"Hey buddy, it's me, I know you're not asleep."
I crawl out from under the covers and smile.
"How'd you know?"
"I did the same thing as a boy," he smiles. "I would lay in bed and think about all sorts of things and kiddo I've been thinking tonight."
"About what?"
"Maybe you and I can go play ball tomorrow...after I get done with work..." He winks.
"Really? That would be so cool!"
"Okay then kiddo. Tomorrow it is. We can play football or I can teach you to throw a baseball or yknow what let's do both."
"That sounds awesome!"
"Alright, go to sleep now kiddo, all superheros need rest." He says shutting my door.
"I'm gonna learn about sports tomorrow!" I say to myself.
I can't believe that I'm gonna get to do stuff like all my friends...
