With the sun rising it marked the beginning of a brand new day. Light entered through the windows of the coffee awakening (Y/n) from his slumber. Looking around his surroundings he concluded that he must have not made it back home last night.
Y/n: "The bad thing about falling asleep here is that my back hurts from hunching to lay my face on the table. Now my spine feels weird again. I wonder if the chiropractor is available next week for an appointment."
A bell ringing was heard causing him to look towards the door. Entering the building were David and Mia. The elderly man waved at him while Mia just nodded her head at him for some reason.
David: Good morning (Y/n). I'm glad to see that you're awake otherwise I'd be forced to toss a bucket of cold water to wake you.
Y/n: "That's an old-school technique that even my parents used to wake me up for class. It's simple but always worked." I'm glad to not still be sleeping then. Well, I don't want to bother you any more than I already have so I'll get moving.
As he got up from his seat he approached the door. When he was about to open the door someone spoke stopping him.
Mia: So we allow you to sleep here for the night but you can't help set up the chairs for today.
Slowly he turned around looking at her rubbing the back of his head.
Y/n: I wasn't sure that you wanted my help. But since you're asking I'll at least take the chairs off the tables.
Now proceeding to help before he leaves to get prepared for work again. Quickly all the chairs were now taken off the tables and on their legs. Once completed he drove home to take a shower, eat, and change into a fresh pair of clothes. Afterward, he drove to the community center. Sitting on his bike outside he stared at the sign above the entrance.
Y/n: "I couldn't spend my time at the convention I wanted. Still, this has been very eventful."
He shoved his keys into his pocket. Then he proceeded to enter the building. Maybe just maybe if he's lucky he'll have the entire day off instead of just a lunch break. Sure he will still be uncomfortable since there are a lot of people around but as long as he doesn't focus on that he should be fine. After all, this event was created to have fun, not to stress out.
Walking to his both he noticed that his boss was there waiting for him. He did not look very happy.
Y/n: "Oh no, please tell me this isn't the day I get fired. I haven't even received my first paycheck yet." Um, hey boss or um I mean Arthur. Maybe I should call you boss because you seem mad right now.
Arthur: Don't worry about it. I'm not mad at you just this damn technology. The internet in this building is offline and the tech people said they don't know when it'll be back on. I shouldn't have gotten rid of the old speakers just because we got wireless ones.
Y/n: So it's just the wifi not the electricity correct?
Arthur: Well the lights in this room are on so what do you think!... Sorry, I'm just pissed that this is happening it's not your fault. As your boss, I shouldn't scream at you about something that is out of your control. Just take the entire day off. Whether you go home or stay is up to you.
Y/n: Okay, thanks. Hopefully, the internet will be up and running by tomorrow.
Arthur: Yeah, yeah I hope so too. We need to do our best to get more people to listen to our radio station.
Arthur left looking defeated. Sure this world has stuff like magic but that made everyone stop the advancement of technology. There are still moments when something like having trouble connecting to wifi is still a common occurrence. Everyone just became too dependent on certain things when we thought about myths turned out to be real.
