(Name) enjoyed gardening. Watering the flowers beside her classroom building. It was so therapeutic that it released all her stress in such a calming way. The sight of her hard work standing still as the cold breeze passed it warmed her chest. It was such a sight.

The vivid, oceanic hues of the tulips that she planted blossomed in the spring's embrace as the pre white, snowy daisies stood beside it. The bush in front of the flowers bore hydrangeas as well, hues that were calming to a sight with its pastel hues – the combination of the purple, pink, and blue gave a rainy atmosphere, but enjoyable.

There stood (Name) with a watering can on her hand, humming as she listened to the mindless chattering inside the building, the footsteps of the people who passed her, and the surprised gasps that turned into smiles from the students who did notice her hard work.

It made her smile, fellow students appreciating her work. The work that she loved. Reminding how the teachers encourage her to continue her work. No wonder you were the president of the gardening club. No one dared to mess with your flowers and plants. You didn't really know why, since people could easily trample on one of them – accidentally or not.

There was this one, tall guy who would stand nearby your hard work. He would just stare there from his spot before walking towards one of the azaleas from the bushes – smiling as his hand made contact with the soft flower before glancing to the white lillies beside it. You wondered if he was some kind of flower connoisseur or just liked the flowers like other Kokuyo students did, but the sight of him smiling towards the flowers sent warmth in your chest.

Although he would do it quite often; always at lunchtime or in the morning when you were already on your way to your classroom, would he visit briefly. His frequent visits made you curious about him and made you want to have a chat and ask his purpose for visits. The garden is, of course, the school's property, but since it was you who was tasked to take care of it, his presence only made you curious.

You let out a sigh – an opportunity will appear either way so rushing it would be foolish. You continued to water the plants you were waiting to grow with the sight of the strawberries looking plump and ready to harvest. Sometimes, if the crops were too many, you would give them to the cooking club since they could use it for their activities, some do goes to anyone who wants to have them (as long as they have permission from you) or you take them home – the teachers let you since you were the one who planted and took care of them.

It was a quiet, spring afternoon; The glaring sunlight is now out of your plants direction, the breezy wind of spring passes by as the plants showered into the lukewarm water from your watering can. A quiet, spring afternoon.

"Hello." a deep voice that made you turn your head in confusion, "It seems like you were the one who's been taking care of these flowers."

It was the tall guy. "Hello," you greeted back as you gave him a small smile before continuing, "Yes, it's actually my job to do this." you chuckled.

"Oh, how rude," you started, "I forgot to introduce myself, my name is (Last Name) (First Name) and I'm the president of the Gardening club." you said, feeling shame as you forgot your manners, "It's nice to meet you."

"fufu," he chuckled, smiling at your polite gesture, "Rokudo Mukuro, a third year."

"Oh, a fellow third year, hello." you greeted again, chuckling. "I always see you looking at the flowers, especially the azaleas and the lillies," you pointed out, getting straight to the point to quench your curiosity, "...were there any reason why?"

"–kufufu, how direct." he stated, "They look very pretty."

"I like looking at them, the pure whiteness of the flowers are very beautiful in my eyes." The word "eyes" made you look at his – a pair of indigos.

White flowers that could be easily trampled, step on, and taint to red if he wanted to.

"You did such a great job taking care of them, (Last Name)." he smiled before glancing at the said flowers once again. The compliment dusted your cheeks red – it was direct and he acknowledged your hard work.

"–Thank you, it was a lot of effort to take care of them." you said as you laid down the watering can beside the flower bed, walking and standing beside him.

"Is there a flower that you like?" you asked, looking at the white azalea near you, "or perhaps a favorite?"

The question made him hum as he thought of an answer – it was only for a small talk, since he deemed like he didn't really mind at all. But putting a thought about it was kind of surprising. "I don't really have any favorites but I like the flowers that you have here."

"For instance, the vivid ones on that side." Mukuro stated as he turned around, pointing his finger into the one flowerbed with the colorful trollius, campanula, eustoma, and lathyrus – those meant gratitude, didn't they?"

Your eyes widened from his knowledge about flowers, such a person in your age knew flowers as much as you do! It makes your heart skip a beat as your features brighten up, excitedly replying to his statement, "Yes, and the other one beside them symbolizes health!"

"and the other ones symbolizes friendship, correct?" he inquired before you looked at him with a glint of excitement and happiness in your eyes, "Yes! The Nemexia and Phlox flowers are popular with the girls here."

You chuckled, "My, I didn't know a guy my age also knows a lot about flowers!"

Mukuro flinched as his arms crossed, your statement reminding him the days of looking frantically on a nearby library for some book about flowers and ended up borrowing a lot, "Well, taking care of them is a lot of effort and they liven up the place." he replied. "and plus,"

His statement was cut short. Your gaze turned to his, seeing a sly smirk on his lips before he continued, "a beautiful girl like you makes beautiful flowers."

In a sudden, a white chrysanthemum appeared on his hand – it seems like it was hidden on his hand because it came behind him and you don't have one in the school garden. You saw his right eye become red for a while before it became indigo again, the sight made you confused but dismissed it and thought you were just seeing things wrong.

"You know what this means, right?"

honesty.

"and this," he got another flower, now it's gardenia.

"w–wait..!"

purity, sweetness, joy

and one more thing that came into your mind, secret love.

You looked up once again and saw his back walking away from you, not being able to answer because of your flustered state, he only heard you being a stammering mess which he thought was adorable before disappearing from your sight.
