also a honorable mention to potatoi27! They reached out to me back in 2020 to request for Enma but I haven't reread the whole manga back then and that if ever I will be writing about Enma, I should mention them so here!! I finally got to write about Simon!!

On your way after school, you would always see a classmate crouching on the sidewalk beside a tree. The obviously red haired teen was of course Kozato Enma, the boy who had his seat in front of you ーwhich is why you were so sure that the person who's petting a white kitten a few feet away from you is the teen himself. You only blinked, watching him pet the kitten who had been meowing at him loudly. Enma has been giving it attention, only for the kitten to lean closer to him.

When Enma stopped, the kitten proceeded to brush its body on the teen's right leg which made him chuckle in response. It was the first time hearing him let out such a soft, gentle noise; Enma, as you remember, is a gloomy boy. He used to be bullied back in middle school but when he got into high school, the bullying stopped but Enma still has this gloomy aura around him. He does have his friends though, like Sawada Tsunayoshi who has been hanging out with him since second year of middle school.

Your feet brought you to Enma ー who turned his head behind him and looked up to see you suddenly approaching him. His eyes widened and his shoulders tensed, flinching as Enma quickly turned his body towards your direction and stumbled on his feet in the process, now losing balance and landing on his butt on the ground.

You were also surprised, but because of his reaction which made you take a step back in reflex. You blinked, processing the situation, "I'm sorry," you let out in slight panic, hoping that the boy wouldn't misunderstand your intentions, "I didn't mean to surprise you like that!"

He looked at you in disbelief and you stared at him back, waiting for him to respond. There was a deafening silence between the two of you before hearing a soft cry on the side once again. You looked at the culprit, which is the white kitten on the ground who has also been meowing at you, which looks like it's yelling towards you. Without any hesitation, you crouched, removing your school bag that was on your arm and laid it on the ground. You watched the kitten turn its head towards your bag, which noticed the white pom-pom keychain with a little bell that was hanging on the zipper.

Your attention fell back into the red haired teen, whose gaze softened when he saw the kitten walk towards your direction. You saw Enma relaxing his tense shoulders and looked at you with curiosity glinting in his eyes. When you met his gaze, you flashed him a smile, which he reluctantly nodded to and then you looked back at the kitten, now playing with your keychain.

The sight made you smile, seeing how adorable it was for the kitten to just play around with its short legs trying to reach the pom-pom ball that was bigger than its head. You were glad it liked your keychain, hearing the bell ring around as the kitten continued to play with it.

While watching the kitten, you sighed, thinking that it was a shame that you didn't have any cat treats with you. You didn't have any pets at home, but the possibility is there since you used to have a family dog when you were young and your parents aren't really around at home that much since both of them work. They also told you one time that it was okay for you to have a pet, but it will be your responsibility which you didn't really mind.

With both of your legs getting numb from your crouched position, you let both of your knees touch the ground ー not worrying about the stockings you wear being dirtied from the dirt. You also started poking the keychain towards the direction of the kitten, which became more fierce and took out its claws.
