~Outside~

"Paz, how do you feel about Dipper?" Gwen asked, genuinely curious.

"Oh, Dip? He's... fine. I guess. My respect for him has grown since he helped save our family and I from a ghost. Sure, he's a little nerdy, has a big head, but he's nice. Maybe a bit cut-" Pacifica said before being cut off by Gwen.

"I think he's a twerp who should leave us alone."

"Oh, c'mon! He's not THAT bad! We're friends, I've kept in touch with him over the past year." Pacifica responded, laughing a bit and punching Gwen lightly in the arm.

"How did you see past the weirdness?" Gwen joked.

"Well, when you live through the odd-pocolypse with someone, even if that someone is Dipper, everything seems a lot less weird when it becomes normal again - even in Gravity Falls." Pacifica said, looking up at the bright blue sky.

"Okay, fair enough."

Dipper ran down from the shack, wanting to talk with the two Northwests.

"Well, I guess he's nice enough. When he's not threatening you or tripping you or sneezing." Gwen laughed.

"He really is weird, isn't he?" Pacifica replied.

"If you're talking about me, then yes." Dipper said from behind them, laughing.

The two girls jumped simultaneously.

"What!? It's just me. I wanted to talk with Pacifica."

"Sure. You go ahead, Gwen." Pacifica smiled.

"Paz. I gotta ask you something." Dipper said after Gwen was far away and out of earshot.

"What is it, Dip?"

"It's... it's about Gwen." Dipper said. He was going to tell Wendy - and would tell her later - but Pacifica seemed like the better option for now.

"Oh. What about her?" Pacifica's face fell a bit.

"You see, I might, maybe, ya know... like her? Just a bit?" He said, questionly, even though he knew it was true.

"You're asking me? Like a question? Um... okay?" Pacifica said, her face falling totally.

"No. Just, confused, I guess." Dipper noticed her saddened expression.

"Ah. 'Kay then. Cool." Pacifica said, turning away.

"Paz, what's wrong?" Dipper asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"It's just... I might have had a crush on you. Last summer. It sounds stupid now, but that was me. When you saved us from that ghost, when you went to the ends of the Earth to save your sister, everything, you were so kind-hearted, that it just made me... well, I became attracted to you. It sounds so stupid now, but that's what it was. The way that you could bring out the good in everyone, even me! You saw me before. Being a jerk to you and Mabel, thinking I was better than everyone else. You were the best person that I knew, and it made me love you all the more." Pacifica said.

Dipper was stunned. He didn't realize that Pacifica thought this way about him. "Paz. I never knew this. And, I suppose I kinda had a crush on you. It's in the past now, though... things change. Summer ends." After Dipper finished, he leaned over and pecked Pacifica on the cheek. After turning bright red, she looked over.

"Thanks, Dip. This actually made me feel better- and I think that you'll be good to go if you want to tell my cousin about your crush." Pacifica replied.

Dipper laughed. "No problem. And, thanks. This helped me too." He squeezed her hand a bit before they ran off and joined Gwen.

"So, what were you guys talking about?"

Dipper and Pacifica exchanged uncomfortable looks.

"Nothing much." Bipper replied. "I gotta get back up to the Mystery Shack. I'll see you two later." He turned around and ran back to the Shack.

"Oh my god, Paz! Did you tell him you liked him yet?" She said when he had run far enough.

"May- Maybe..?" Pacifica replied.

"You did, didn't you!" Gwen smiled.

Pacifica just blushed as a response.

"What did he say?"

Pacifica hesitated for a moment before replying. "He said that he liked someone else."

"Aw, I'm sorry, Pacifica." Gwen put her arm around her cousin and gave her a squeeze. "You'll feel better."

"I'm fine. It actually helped, learning what he thought." Pacifica said, looking at the tall pine trees.

"Well, I'm glad it helped. Did he say who he had a crush on, anyways?"

"...Maybe..?"

"Maybe? You can't leave me on a 'Maybe?'!" She rolled her eyes.

"Okay, okay... it's..." Pacifica took a deep breath. "You."

Gwen's eyes widened. "Me? But that's impossible! He just met me today!"

"Yes. That 'little twerp' likes you." Pacifica responded.

"Well." She took a breath. "At least one thing is for sure. That feeling is not mutual." She shook.

"I suspected that. But don't reject him. Just... don't tell him that you know." Pacifica said, putting a hand on her cousin's shoulder.

"...Alright." She nodded. "I can do that." She smiled at her cousin. "Thanks for letting me know."

"No problem. Now, we should probably be getting back to the Northwest Manor."

"Yup." As the two walked away, Gwen looked back, wondering why - how - would this all happen?

Ow. Her left eye started to burn. "Hey, Paz, can I use your mirror real quick?"

"Sure." She pulled the mirror out of her purse and handed it to Gwen. Gwen rushed to inconspicuously take out her contact. She gasped, and immediately put it back in, handing the mirror back to Pacifica.

Her eye had flashed yellow, with a tiny blue flame, and an even tinier eye, right in the middle of the fire. This was not goo-
