Taylor's POV

"I need you to promise me," I say, needing some reassurance that my brother will be ok.

"Taylor, you know I can't—" He starts, but I cut him off.

"Just promise me Nicolas, please," I plead, a single tear sliding down my cheek. His features soften a bit as he looks down at me.

"Ok Thomas, I promise," he eventually gives in. I smile and hug him tightly.

"Thank you Nicolas," I say, kissing his cheek. I pull away from, a small pink tint on his cheeks as he looks around the room, avoiding eye contact with me.

He clears his throat and nods silently.

"I'll text Gio and let him know you'll be helping us again," he says, walking off and grabbing his phone from off the charger.

"What do I need to do?" I ask, sitting back down on the bed, eyeing my already eaten breakfast on my plate, regretting eating it so fast.

"Nothing really. Just accompany me at an event and Gio will find someone to go with him," he says, texting someone.

I hum in response and grab my phone, texting Sophia back after seeing a text from her from last night,

Sophia: Hey Tay, where are you? It's 3 o'clock in the morning. You should've been home hours ago.

Taylor: I spent the night with the guy I was telling you about. And no, we didn't do anything.

I smile as I send her that message, already knowing about her and her weird assumptions.

Sophia: Mhm. Not yet anyway. Come home already, I miss you and I want to watch all the After movies with you.

I grin at her as I notice that she loves those movies with everything in her. She has already watched it at least a hundred times.

Taylor: Ok, see you in a bit.

"I have to go into work today so maybe you can come help me sort out some files? You don't have to if you don't want to," he says.

"Sure, I just need to do a few things before I head over," I say, as an email comes in from my co-worker, Lauren.

Good morning Taylor!

Do you think you could come in today? I really need your help with another interview
appointment because you actually did really good with the last one and being that our boss isn't doing any better, I'd rather you do it.

I know that you're supposed to be spending some well deserved time-off, but I just need you for a quick interview and I'll even pay you a good amount of money for it. Let me know if you can come in as soon as you can.

Best,

Lauren G.

I instantly agree because I could never say no to any amount of money, no matter the situation.
