Castaway's *Bucky x Reader*

Part 2

~Time skip to when Steve is in Bucky's apartment~

After the Bomb in Vienna, You and Steve got a file from Sharon about Bucky. You were able to find his apartment. You entered the apartment and looked around. It was small, there was a mattress on the floor with a sleeping bag and a pillow. The windows were blocked with newspaper and the walls were very old. There was a single couch and a small stove and kitchen. Along the wall there were old broken shelves supported by bricks. "How has he been able to live like this?" You sighed. Steve walked to the fridge and found Bucky's journal above it. He pulled it out from under some packaged food and opened it. Steve found a photo of himself in his suit slid into the book.

"Heads up cap, German special forces approaching from the south." Sam warned Steve. "Understood." Steve replied. You turned around and froze, eyes locked on what was in front of you. "Steve..." He turned around, in front of you was a man with long dark brown hair tucked under his dark blue baseball cap. His shining blue eyes locked onto Steve's. He wore a red shirt under a green jacket. He had slight stubble around his stern face. A hint of fear and question dusted his expression.

"You know me?" Steve questioned after looking Bucky up and down. "... Your Steve, I read about you in a museum." Bucky said, his voice husky and dry. "they've set the perimeter." Sam said into yours and Steves coms. You watched the two men talk, "I know your nervous," Steve said, placing the journal onto the table beside him. "And you have plenty of reason to be." Bucky's face started to show more fear as Steve kept talking. "But you're lying." Steve said. "I wasn't in Vienna; I don't do that anymore." Bucky protested. "Their entering the building." Sam warned. "Steve we gotta get bucky out of here." You pleaded. Bucky looked over at you and back to Steve. Steve ignored your plead. "Well, the people who think you did are coming here now, and they're not planning on taking you alive." "That's smart, good strategy." Bucky replied.

"Steve..." You tried to get him to listen. "Steve we seriously need to go, we need to get bucky out before someone gets him." "They're on the roof." Sam stated and you could feel a ball of worry growing in you. "This doesn't have to end in a fight Buck." Steve said. Bucky pulled of his black glove to reveal a shinning metal hand. "It always ends in a fight." You watched the two men talk, while you were trying to figure out a way to get bucky, yourself and Steve out of the building safely. "You pulled me from the river!" Steve raised his voice a little. "Why?" "Steve, could we please finish this somewhere when we aren't about to be killed!" you said, urging the men to calm down and fix this mess. " I don't know." Bucky replied to Steve. "Yes, you do." Steve said, suddenly a bomb was thrown into the apartment. Steve blocked the first one with his shield then a second one came in towards bucky. He kicked it towards you and Steve before Steve put his shield over it to protect you.

Armed officers then raided the apartment and had guns. You got your gun out and walked towards Bucky to cover him. Bucky lifted the mattress to block the bullets coming from the window towards you and him. You then started walking out the apartment, firing bullets at the officers. Two officers came in through the window, and Steve and Bucky attacked them.

You started attacking officers in the stair well, then Bucky came out and started attacking them as well. Then one of the officers pinned you to a wall, you tried getting out of their grasp, but they were too strong. "Steve!" You said into coms. Then Bucky came from behind the officer and knocked him out. You gasped as you tried to catch your breath. "Are you ok?" Bucky asked. You looked up, "Yeah, thank you." You gave him a smile and he returned it. More officers started to ascend the stairwell. Bucky panicked and jumped onto an officer who was hanging in the middle of the stairs. He got to the other side of the stairs and started to take out more of the officers.

Steve finally got out of the apartment and started helping you and bucky fight. Bucky then fell down the middle of the stairwell. "Bucky!" you tried reaching for him. Luckily, he was able to grab onto the railing of a few levels below. You sighed with a smile on your face. Bucky kicked the door open and walked out of the building. You gave Steve a look, "Go help him, I'll stay here." Steve said. You nodded and jumped down a few levels to get where he was. You were able to catch a glimpse of him jumping of the building. You ran up to see what would happen, luckily, he landed on the building next to the one you were on currently. You took a deep breath, "I can do this." You breathed, you took a few steps back and ran as fast as you could, pushing yourself off the building. You put your arms to your head as you landed with a thud onto the concrete. "What are you doing?" Bucky asked as he grabbed his backpack. "I need to keep you safe; I know there are more people who want you dead." You puffed. Bucky smiled slightly. No one has ever cared for him this much, or at least pretended they did.

Bucky started running and you ran by his side. Then you noticed a shadow, a man in a black suit jumped onto Bucky. "Bucky!" You started attacking the man in the suit to give bucky some time to get up. The mysterious man got you pinned up against a metal box. His claws came out of his suit and his fist came towards you. Then bucky knocked him out of reach of you and started attacking him himself. You sighed and helped bucky.

Bucky managed to get the person in the suit off him and he made a run for it. You looked over and started running with him. You got to the edge of the building and screeched to a holt. You couldn't jump down the side of a building. You looked behind you to the man in the black cat suit and back down to where bucky was. He was looking up at you from the platform below with a look of hope. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath in. you looked to where you were jumping and you dropped, landing on your feet but then collapsing. "Here, I'll help you down this next one." Bucky offered and he put his arm around your waist. You put your arms around his neck, and he jumped down to the ground. You closed your eyes because of fright, "You can open your eyes." Bucky said and you opened them to see him looking into your eyes and smiling. "Thank you, Bucky." You smiled and he nodded. "We need to run." He huffed and you nodded and continued running with him.

Bucky got to a tunnel and grabbed your waist again to help you down. He jumped with you latched to his hip. You quickly got up and both sprinted through the traffic with no real destination. Bucky started leaping from cars and you did the same. You then saw Steve driving one of the cars, so you jumped on his. "Y/n I can't shake any of these guys." He said. "Don't worry, I'm on it." You pulled out your gun and started shooting the men in the car. Sam flew into the tunnel to help take out the guys following you. More police flooded the tunnel, surrounding you. The black cat suited man jumped onto the top of the car and started fighting you. "Sam, a little help?" You panted, trying to keep this guy off you. Sam flew in and knocked him off the car. Steve kept the car moving.

You saw bucky run to an opening in the tunnel and snatch a motorcycle from someone. It flipped in the air as bucky held it and he jumped onto it and continued to drive. "Woah." You were shocked. The chase continued and you continued to try and get to Bucky. "Steve, I need to get to Bucky fast." You said, you saw the man with the black suit jump onto Bucky's motorcycle and push him down to the ground. Steve drove right next to Bucky, and you reached over to get the man off Bucky. "Sam, are you alright?" Steve asked. He was being weighted down by the black suited man. "Yep, I'm ok, just go help Bucky." You looked towards Bucky and saw him throw a bomb onto the support beam across the top of the tunnel. You quickly jumped off the car to get through just in time as the beam became a pile of rubble.

You fell forward and rolled along the ground before stopping right next to Bucky. You got up, "are you ok?" you asked, and he nodded. Steve ran through the rubble and the mysterious man jumped at Bucky. Steve jumped and swung the man away from Bucky before he could hit him. Police flooded the tunnel and surrounded you guys. Rhodey then flew in and aimed a gun at each of you. "Stand down, now." He said sternly. Officers surrounded you with guns aimed, ready to fire if needed. You put your hands up, "Congratulations Cap and Y/n, You're now criminals."
