Castaway's *Bucky x Reader*

Part 16

The fight felt like it was taking years. You shot monster after monster, but they just kept coming. All of a sudden giant spiky wheels rose out from the ground, heading towards you and the avengers. The wheels split up and started churning their way through the battlefield. You could see Sam and Rhodey shooting at the wheels. "Like that's going to help, their metal!" you laughed into the coms, and you could hear Bucky laugh as well.

Then the wheels were coming towards you, Nat and Okoye and you ducked, as if it would help you get away from them. Then Wanda flew down and used her powers to stop them. She then threw them to the side and caused then to kill the creatures. Wanda looked back at us with a smile, "why was she up there all this time?" Okoye asked. "Yeah! We needed you!" You huffed and Wanda laughed.

"Guys, we've got a Vison situation here." Sam said into coms, "someone get to vison." Steve yelled. "On my way now." You ran towards where vison was, your legs were burning but you didn't care, this was the fight of your lives. Once you reached Vision, one of Thanos's children had already got there. "Nuh-uh, back away please." You said with a smirk on your face, holding your guns up. Bruce then flew down to you in his suit and the goons started fighting you both.

Punches were thrown and blood was shed, but you weren't going to give up hope. "Guys, Vision needs back up now!" You listened to what Bruce said and headed down to where Vision had fallen. You helped him up and began heading to safety. Before you could prepare yourself, you were kicked in the gut by one of Thanos's goons. A groan escaped your lips as you rolled on the ground to hopefully relieve the pain.

The goon stabbed Vision in the chest and held him by the throat. Their voices were muffled by the pain you felt, but then the goon pulled the spear out of Visions chest, and he let him fall to the ground. "No!" You screamed, wincing in pain once you did. Then Steve came running in and you let out a breath you didn't realise you were holding.

He looked at you, "get Vision out of here!" You nodded and stood up, walking over to Vision, and looping your arms around him in attempt to get him out. Steve continued to fight to go on as you tried to help Vision, but you could hold him nor yourself up. "Go!"

"Steve, I can't!" You sighed and collapsed to the ground next to vision. Steve was flung to the ground and a goon held him to the ground by the throat. The goon then stopped breathing as a spear was stabbed into his chest. He was lifted into the air by Vision who had managed to pull himself up.

Steve came running to you and helped you stand up. "Where's Bucky? Is he ok?" You groaned but Steve didn't answer your question. Wanda flew in and helped Vision as Steve held you to his side. Everything went quiet, too quiet. "Steve? What's going on?" You looked up at him and he was looking around, you could sense something was wrong. "I... I don't know."

"Everyone on my position." Steve said into coms. You detached yourself from his side as you were able to stand now. "We have in coming." Sam and Nat had now joined you. T'challa and Okoye were looking around wearily. Then something started glowing and Thanos walked out of a glowing space hole, that was the best way you could describe it.

Everyone stared at him, prepared for the worst. "Eyes up. Stay sharp." Steve said as he started running towards the purple alien. Bruce jumped towards Thanos, but Thanos walked right through him, and Bruce was stuck into the rock wall. Then Steve was flown away with the use of a single purple rock. T'challa was thrown to the ground and Sam's wings stopped working, sending him to the ground too.

You turned away from the purple creature to see Wanda using her powers to take the stone out of Visions head. The pain and sadness on Wanda's face will haunt you forever. You knew why she was doing it, so you tried to distract Thanos and get in his way. You ran to him and jumped and punched him, but it was no use. He shoved you to the ground and kicked you away.

You noticed Bucky running towards Thanos with his gun in hand, he was then forced away with the purple stone. "Bucky!" You slowly stood up and shuffled your way to his side. "Are you ok?" You asked, checking his body. "Yeah, I'm alright, are you?" Bucky sat up and held your hand. "I am now." You both watched as everyone in the team was being taken down by Thanos with a movement of his hand.

Steve got back to Thanos to stop him from getting to Wanda and Vision, but it was no use. Thanos punched him to the ground and headed over to Wanda. She used her powers to fight Thanos back and to get the stone out of Visions head. Then the stone shattered, into hundreds of tiny pieces, causing an explosion. Thanos walked over to Wanda and grabbed her head. Then he walked over to vision and used the time stone to turn back time to get the stone back. "No!" Wanda screamed but he hit her back.

He held Vision but the throat and ripped the stone from his head, causing all colour to fade away from his body. Thanos then put the stone into his gauntlet, absorbing all power. A bolt of lightning shot Thanos and Thor came flying in. You stood up and went to Nat to help her from the ground while Thor delt with Thanos. Thor's axe was in his chest, "I told you, you die for that." Thor than pushed the axe further into Thanos, causing him to scream.

"You should have gone for the head." Thanos smirked and clicked his fingers. A flash blinded you and the gauntlet was now burning on Thanos's giant hand. "What did you do?" Thor yelled. Thanos ignored him and disappeared into thin air.

"Where did he go? Thor?" Steve questioned, "where did he go?" Thor didn't answer him. "Steve." You turned your head towards the voice of your husband. "Y/n?" You quickly stood up and hobbled towards him. "Bucky!" You noticed his arms and legs turning to dust. "Bucky, stay with me, ok? Stay with me." Tears were streaming down your face as you held what was left of your husbands' body. "I love you." Then Bucky turned to a pile of dust in front of you.

Tears erupted from you, and you fell to the ground. Steve came to your side; shock painted his face as he knelt down beside you. You didn't take in your surroundings when other people disappeared as well. You had just got your husband back and now he is gone. "Why?" You sobbed and Steve pulled you into his side. You picked up a handful of Bucky's ashes and cried even more. Your husband was gone, and you couldn't do anything about it.

Once the fight was over, you went back to the palace to find Anna and Shuri in a safe room. You walked over to Anna hugging yourself but opening your arms when Anna ran to you. "Why are you crying?" You knelt down and held her hands as you told her what had happened to her daddy. Anna began crying and you held her tight to your chest. You comforted her as much as you could, while also trying to keep your tears at bay. You had to be strong, for Anna.
