Castaway's *Bucky x Reader*

Part 8

Its been eight months since you and Bucky have started dating and you couldn't be happier. Each week you and Bucky would take in turns of planning a date night and you would both go to the fruit market together to buy plums to help Bucky with his memories. You would often wake up in the night to screaming and crying from Bucky, you knew he had nightmares and you always tried your hardest to help him. You knew that if he hurt you, that it was only the nightmares and his reflexes as The Winter Soldier. He's had these nightmares long enough for you to know how to wake him up without scaring him. You loved Bucky so much and you would go to any risks to help him get over his Winter Soldier phase.

Recently you have been waking up with a horrible feeling in your stomach. You would often run to the bathroom with Bucky following as you threw up into the toilet. Bucky always comforted you and held your hair out of your face and rubbed your back to comfort you. Neither you or Bucky knew what was going on. But once Bucky left to go to the market for food, you pulled a pregnancy test out from the bathroom cupboard. You waited three minutes for the results to come up. All these thoughts were running through your head; what if I'm pregnant? Will Bucky leave me? Will he not want the baby? Will he leave me and the baby to fend for ourselves? Will he stop loving me?

Once the three minutes were over you took a deep breath in and looked at the results, the test read 'positive'. You felt this overwhelming feeling of worry and happiness consume you. you weren't sure how Bucky would react. You brought your knees up to your chest and hugged them tight, test in hand. You began to cry, you let out all of your feelings, you were so scared about what would happen when Bucky gets home.

Bucky opened the door to the apartment, "Baby, I'm home." He said as he placed the food on the kitchen counter, expecting you to welcome him with a kiss on the cheek like you usually do. Bucky started to feel a pit of worry grow in his stomach when he heard sob's coming from the bathroom. Bucky quickly ran into the bathroom to find you huddled on the ground against the wall crying. He ran over to you and hugged you. "What's wrong, Doll? Are you feeling sick again?" You didn't answer his question, instead you pulled your hand out from between your legs and chest to reveal the positive pregnancy test. Bucky looked at the test then at you in shock. He took it from your hands and held the test with his fingertips.

You looked up at him with red, puffy eyes. "I-is this true? You're pregnant?" you sniffled and replied with a nod. Bucky's face then lit up. You then whipped away your tears and smiled a little. "You're pregnant!" Bucky yelled and you chuckled. Bucky picked you up off the ground, "Y/n this is amazing!" You laughed as he swung you around the room. "I'm going to be a dad!" Bucky repeated happily. "Yeah, you are Bucky." You said softly as he put you down. Bucky looked into your eyes, "I couldn't be happier." He then kissed you passionately and you kissed back.

"Why were you crying?" Bucky asks, an hour after he found out you were pregnant. You sighed, "I thought you wouldn't be happy and that you would leave me." You said, getting quieter at every word you spoke. Bucky frowned and turned your head to look at him. He cupped your face, "I would never leave you," he states. "I love you too much to do that. I am beyond happy that I'm going to be the father of our baby." Bucky gave you a toothy grin and you smiled back.

You and Bucky laid on the couch the rest of the night. All that crying made you exhausted. You snuggled into Bucky's side, and he wrapped his arm around your shoulders protectively. You smiled to yourself and closed your eyes. Bucky knew you were asleep when your head fell onto his chest. He smiled and kissed your forehead, "I love you Y/n." Bucky then fell asleep with you in his arms.

The next nine months were tricky. You would sometimes get sick in the mornings, but Bucky would always be by your side to help. Bucky bought Parenting books, he tried to hide it from you, but you saw him reading it and you thought it was the cutest thing ever. You went to the doctor every four weeks to check on the baby and found out that you were having a beautiful baby girl. Bucky always spoke to your baby girl while you were sleeping, you were always awake when it happened, but you never told him. He would say things like: "Hey baby doll, I'm so excited to meet you, and I know your mummy is too." Bucky would get extra excited when he would talk to his 'Baby Doll' and she would kick back. On days you were feeling sick, Bucky would kneel down In front of you and place his hand on your stomach and talk to his baby Doll; "Hey, Baby, your mummy is feeling really sick today, could you maybe help her out?" You awed every time he would talk to her like she was already here.
