They took from us all,
Making us work ourselves to the bone.
Yet, they still keep us tethered, attached to the phone.
If we all just worked together, perhaps they would fall.
While they reduce us to numbers on a page,
They ignore the children, who will soon come of age.
Their anger feeds the fight,
so that they may win at the end of the night.
Acting as if their will is our law
with financial prowess meant to shake us all.
Wishing we would all just shut up as they foresaw.
Yet remaining unaware that they hold the monkey's paw.
Their needless control over all we see,
Trying to reduce the exposure of those like you and me.
Sit down! Listen well! You're just a child!
These statements so useless, don't you think it's wild?
They take from us all, between money and time;
and when they say jump, expect us to do it at their cry.
They will just continue to take and take, no matter what we do
putting the work on those less fortunate: me, and you.
