8. Family

Arthur Leywin Pov:

The day of my departure finally arrived. I was excited to see my family again but I also felt a bit sad for leaving Tess, even though it would be a long time before I return. I still can't help it.

I walked out of the shower and changed into new clothes. I wore a simple olive-green long sleeve shirt and black pants. I wrapped Sylvia's feather around my forearm. I opened the door of my room to see Tess waiting for me with her head down.

Sylvie jumped on her shoulder and licked her cheeks at which Tess laughed and scratched Sylvie's cheeks.

"Don't worry mama we will be back soon, " Sylvie said as she consoled Tess.

"I know, Sylvie, " Tess responded as she kissed her.

"Let's go, Tess, everyone is waiting, " I said as I pulled her in a side hug at which she smiled and returned my hug. I could hear Regis click his tongue behind me.

"Oh, is someone jealous, " Sylvie asked Regis in a teasing tone.

"In hell, I will be jealous of two little kids getting all lovey-dovey, I will just miss my love, Aya. How will she be without me even thinking about it hurts my heart, " Regis said in a dramatic tone at which all three of us deadpanned at him.

"What?! Am I not allowed to fall in love and get my desires, " Regis said.

We all just shrugged at him and started walking towards the door where everyone was waiting for us. Regis leaped inside my body as Tess was holding Sylvie in her arms.

As we reached the main door I saw gramps waiting for us while smirking. Father and Mother were waiting for me In their carriage. I have gotten used to calling them Father and Mother, so it doesn't feel weird anymore.

"Arthur! Remember to take care, we will be waiting for you and your family. Take these two-way communication scrolls so you can tell us about your arrival in Elenoir, we will send someone to escort you here, Take this with you it has the royal family's crest on it. It will help you to navigate through the forest. " Virion handed me the compass and two two-way communication scrolls.

"And maybe you can use it to sneak up on Tessia," He said, throwing me a wink at which Regis and Sylvie laughed. I could feel the heat radiating from my body.

"Grandpa!!!" Tess screamed with her face turned red as she pulled gramps beards with her hand infused with mana. I wondered how that beard was still there after years of being pulled by Tess.

"Ouch! Little one! It was a joke, " Gramps yelled as rubbed his beard. He turned towards me before continuing.

"Alduin and Merial are waiting for you in their carriage since Alduin wants to talk to you about a few things, I am sure you can get out of their carriage without anyone seeing, " Gramps said at which I nodded before turning towards Tess who was brushing Sylvie's fur and talking to her.

As I walked towards them Sylvie saw me coming and Sylvie said something in Tess' ears which made her blush. Sylvie then hopped on my head.

'What did you say to her, ' I asked suspiciously.

'Nothing you need to worry about, you will find out soon enough, ' She answered with a slight smirk which made me even more suspicious of what she was planning.

Tess grabbed me in a strong hug which I returned and patted her back.

"I will miss you Art, come back soon with your parents so I can meet them, Don't you dare go chasing after human girls okay. Promise me, " Tess said while trying to hold her tears.
