Reynolds Leywin Pov

I was currently in my room in the floating castle glancing through the window at the clouds right outside. Seeing the clouds and birds flying peacefully it was hard to believe that there is a war going on right below us.

It's been a year since Arthur left. Thinking back now I told him a lot of terrible things that day. I regretted my actions and what I said to him that day. I curse myself everyday asking why I wasn't able to hug him and reassure him that it's okay he's still my son. No matter how much I wanted to say to him now it didn't matter since he wasn't here. All I can do now is wait for him.

I glanced back at Alice who was on a couch sewing a sweater and trying to keep herself busy. She still isn't able to come to terms with Arthur's secret. I tried to have a talk with her a few times but to no avail. I didn't blame she really had it tougher than anyone else.

Merial would often come whenever she had time from council meetings to spend time with Alice thanks to her Alice's condition did improve a lot. The day we arrived at the castle Elder Virion informed me about the war and told me that I can train along with Arthur's friends once I've settled down. Thanks to the beast cores Arthur provided me earlier I was in the dark silver stage before coming to the castle.

Twin Horns were also here for a few months to train but unfortunately I couldn't train with them since I was looking after Alice. They talked with us a few times whenever they got time from their training. It was a bit refreshing. We only told them the reason for Alice's condition is because Arthur left for a while to train in Epheotus and we aren't sure when he'll return.

Though Adam is staying in the castle now to help Alea during her pregnancy. I went to the training room a few times during the past few months to train and get my mind off the ongoing things. Since, Elder Virion wouldn't allow me to join war until Arthur returns or Ellie is a bit older. He was right I can't just leave Alice like this.

In the training room I met Arthur's friends and sparred with them a few times. I have to say I'm quite impressed. Despite being young they're really talented and It was good to see Ellie was also having a good time with them. Due to mine and Alice's initial states we weren't even able to pay much attention towards Ellie. But luckily she was having a good time with Tessia, Arthur's friends and Boo. I still chuckle slightly remembering the name.

Though Alice's condition was only half the reason why I didn't go to the training room regularly, The real reason was Tessia. I don't know why but I couldn't make myself face her. I wonder if Arthur has told her about his past life or not. I couldn't even imagine her condition if she learns about it. When she was around me it felt like she was a bit uneasy like she wanted to talk about something but wasn't sure if she could, so I decided not to force her. If she wants to talk she'll.

Letting out a sigh I walked towards Alice and sat right beside her. "Honey, how're you holding up?" I asked calmly.

Alice stopped what she was doing but didn't move. There was a few seconds of silence before she spoke.

"I don't know Rey, I don't know what to do?" She admitted wiping out a stray tear. "What about you Rey?"

"I've pretty much come to terms with it. Yes, I hated Arthur at first. But now when I think about it I couldn't hate him remembering how much he cares about us and Ellie and how much he has done for this family." I admitted with a smile.

Alice turned towards me with a sad smile. "I wish I was like you, Rey. Coming in terms with things so easily. But no matter how much I try I can't."

"It's alright Alice, No one is forcing you. I know you have it way harder than me." I reassured caressing her cheeks.
