chapter 19: injury

it took all my willpower to keep myself awake through the trek home as i just wanted to drift off since i no longer had adrenaline pumping through me thanks to ichigo's stunt the moment we were secure in the docking clamps i drifted off

"nice job" were the last words i said as i drifted to sleep

"jaune, JAUNE" ichigo shouted

the next thing i know i am waking up in a bed that isn't mine i guessed i was in the infirmary i look over and find ichigo sleeping she was also mumbling you sit yourself up against the backboard of the bed

"huh a sleep talker" i said i placed my hand on her shoulder and rubbed it

"ichigo, ichigo wake up" i said as i hear her mumble my name it becomes abundantly clear the girl is having a nightmare

"JAUNE" she screams as she bolts upright deciding to lighten the situation

"is there something you need ichigo" i asked innocently she looks up to see you smile a little sweetly for her taste and she realizes as she blushes and she turns away before looking back her blush gone

"good morning jaune did you sleep well" she asked

"i slept i don't know about well but i slept i'm sorry for scaring you i at least wanted to get us home first" i said

"thank you" was her reply

"you alright" i asked her her shoulders slump

"yeah, i'm.......fine, but i should be asking you that" she said i gave her a look that made her fess up

"well i hurt everywhere i am thanking my aura that healed my jaw otherwise i wouldn't be able to even talk" i said

"your aura healed me too" i said i nodded every time we connect i always push some of my aura into her when we were escaping the cave i knew she'd probably injured so i pushed more then usual it seems it payed off i am so glad for my semblence

"you should rest and let your injuries heal" she said

"nope can't do that every time i'm not there you try and kill yourself literally" i said

"the doctor has also been here he says that delphinium and strelizia are on their way" ichigo said

"about damn time" i said i noticed her holding her left arm

"well you gonna tell me what you did to yourself" i asked in an expectant tone

"i'm fine" she said i gave her a pointed look

"ichigo i am a patient man but eventually my patience runs out" i said

"oh alright but you have to promise not to be angry" she said

"no now spill" i told her

"i hurt my arm while hyacinth was in stampede" she said looking away

"ichigo you better be glad i can't leave" i said it was then you heard the clicking of heels against the ground meaning nana

"ah, code 013" she said i looked at her expectantly

"sorry, jaune" she said i nodded much better

"i am glad your awake how are you feeling" she asked

"in pain, bored, and extremely annoyed" i said directing my last remark at my partner who is in a lot of trouble

"i should have expected you'd be here then again if you weren't jaune would have been rather disappointed" nana said

"nana, i...." she was cut off however as nana held up her hand

"you did well" she praises the girl in front of her and ichigo beamed

"now breakfast will be served soon, jaune, you are free to move throughout as normal, though for the time being you will be removed from the active roster" she said the look jaune gave her was as if she was about to murder the woman

"Dr. franxx orders" nana said

"i am gonna kill that old man in his sleep with a plastic spork" i said darkly

"ichigo you should go change your cloths, jaune isn't crippled he can get to the dinning room of his own accord" nana said

"yes, nana" ichigo said as she left the room

"seeing as you are awake and can interact with the world i believe my job here is done" she said as she left the room leaving me to continue to grumble
